WTB: Sliding Window seals.

You and me both! I was going to resort to buying new but have not been 100% certain on the part numbers I found. Are you strictly looking for a "deal" and hoping to score a set off someone? Or are you looking for leads on new ones? I'm happy to pass along the part numbers I found.

You don’t happen to have notes on the part numbers your ordered, do you? I think I have the right ones but I’m not 100%.

@Crankshaft Culture bought:

LH (sliding door) MB416313
RH (drivers side) MB416314

...at least, that's what he was told to buy ;-)

Awesome, thanks! I did some checking on my VIN for my '89 on EPC and validated those 2 numbers you list are what I found too.

EPC also shows a MB478210 "Runchannel, Qtr Window, RH) for my van which I assume is the far rear RH (Driver's Side) sliding window run channel.

Yup. The other quarter window is fixed... I guess to keep the sliding door from removing people's arms.

For edification &/or clarification in a Random Parts list you posted last year you listed these numbers: Rear window weather strips (leaf windows): MB859144, MB683061, MB416393
I just wanna order the correct rubber as all 3 of my '89 slider windows need new seals - and not being a glass/window guy I've had a hard time identifying what the correct part is from the parts diagram. Much thx

It's indeed confusing and the drawings are near useless! First, you need to determine if you're after "weather strips" or "run channels". They are different and the part numbers, as you have seen, are different. The convo on this thread pertains to the run channels which are the rubber seals/tracks that your sliding windows slide along in.

MB416313, MB416314, and MB478210 are the run channels that your sliding windows slide along in.
MB859144, MB683061, and MB416393 are, I believe, the seals that seal up the outer edge of the window glass to the van body.

If you drop those part number you provided into Google and do an Image Search, you can get a pretty good idea of what they are.

Hope this helps!

I think that's correct- right side rear sliding window run channel.

There's some confusion here. L300s came with two different style of windows: sliding windows, and leaf windows. They use different seals.
Sliding windows:
3005
Sliding windows are usually fitted to the left and right front (sliding door and the window behind the driver), and often to the right rear window. The left rear window is usually fixed glass to prevent amputations.
Run channel part numbers for short wheelbase vans with sliding windows:
Right Front (driver's side): MB416314
Left front (sliding door): MB416313
Right rear (if fitted): MB478210
Left rear (if fitted, LHD Mitsubishi Van/Wagon for instance): MB478209

Leaf windows:
3004

Just a single pane of glass, hinged at the front, with a latch at the rear to let the back edge pop out a couple of inches. These windows use a rubber seal similar to the tailgate seal. Leaf windows are normally fitted to the drivers side front and rear, and the left side rear. The window in the sliding door is normally fixed.

Weather strip part numbers for RHD short wheelbase vans with leaf windows:
Right front (driver's side): MB683060
Right rear: MB859144
Left rear:
MB683061

Long wheelbase vans have different part numbers for the rearmost windows, since they're longer. LWB vans also sometimes have sliding windows on the sliding door side.

Thanks for the part write up! I wish i would of read this thread before ordering some of my weatherstripping. Ended up getting some wrong stuff but I have figured it out now. I took her through the car wash for the ultimate test and there is one more strip i need to buy to seal her up. I have a (4) bolt fixed window on the sliding door. It looks similar to the popup windows except it doesn't pop out. It doesn't even look like there is weatherstripping at all? Does anyone have the part number for the gasket/weatherstripping for the (4) bolt fixed window on the sliding door?

Going to replace the seals on the three rear sliding windows (runners and weather stripping). Already have the parts.
Anyone have any recommendations, or even able to give a quick step by step for accomplishing the job?

Thank you

I did my windows a couple months ago, except mine were the popout (butterfly) style windows, not the sliders. I don't know how much of the process is the same for both styles. There was really three things that I ran into. 1) It may seem like the weatherstrip is too large. I had a huge bulge in the weatherstripping when fitting it to the van and almost decided to cut it. After working the weatherstrip in around the edge of the window the slack slowly disappeared and it fit. I had the knife ready to go, luckily I worked on it a little longer. 2) I needed two people, one inside the van and one outside the van for removal and install. That might be because it was the popout style. 3) I made sure to clean the window frame before putting the new weatherstripping back on, mine was very dirty.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with a little more experience with the sliders.

Thanks for the reply, and good to know about the slack you encountered. I'll keep that in mind.

Anyone else complete this job before?

I'll be doing all three (sliding windows) in about a week. I'm pretty sure there was a thread here where it was discussed, but generally it seems like:

- Remove the (inside) trim around the windows
- Remove the inside pinch seal that holds the window frame to the van body, be sure to support the window as the window could fall out at this point
- There may be some clips that also secure the frame to the van body on the inside
- At this point you should be able to remove the frame. From what I gather there's a gasket or seal of some kind between the frame and the body that may or may not still be sticky. If it's still sticky a heat gun / hair dryer should loosen it up.
- With the frame removed, you need to remove some stoppers and the middle "support" that will be screwed top and bottom (correct me if I'm wrong)
- Move the panes to the middle of the window frame, and spread the frame vertically, which will allow the panes to "fall out"
- Remove run channel, clean frame, replace run channel (keep an eye on right and left, as the seal has drains in it that are oriented to one side or the other.
