The heater has never been excellent in the vehicle in the 5 years I've had it. I have been driving around with it all the way up. I have not tried latter just in case.
I ened up being able to put it on a company trailer and driving a company Jeep back (I was in Moab for Easter Jeep Safari, of which my company, Warn Industries, participates in). But the temps when I was testing the replaced thermostat were between about 35 and 50 F.
See, that makes WAY more sense than what someone said to me in one of the Facebook groups. They said it pumped from the bottom up which didn't make sense at all to me and was contrary to any other vehicle I've had. But just so my lizard brain gets it:
Hot water exits the engine at the top hose...
Now that I'm home from Moab, I tested the original Hyundai D4BF thermostat in boiling water and the thermostat opened up. So it sounds like the thermostat isn't the issue? When I put the new t-stat in (spring inside the block) it didn't appear there was any sort of logic as to which way it...
The D4BF in my Pajero is getting warm on inclines and under load on the highway. I replaced the thermostat and it still does it. It's fine around town and on trails, but as soon as I hit highway speeds on an incline, the temp starts to go up.
The lower radiator hose is not warming up - cold to...
A couple of years ago I had a D4BF swapped into my 1992 Pajero after my block cracked. After the swap was done, I had a spade connector that was lacking a place to be plugged in. Now, I'm still curious what to do with it, and if it's causing my A/C not to work.
Currently, the smaller of the...
Just a quick update: the RS999223 fronts were just too soft. So I ended up going to the RS999029 instead. They are firmer and I'm much happier with them. We've since driven from OR to AZ and back, and up to BC and back and they're a better option. They do, however, have an eyelet 2mm wider than...
I'm fairly certain all L400s have the red lights on the door's interior. When any door is open, those red lights on the door bottoms illuminate. Problem is, when camping and having the tailgate open regularly, they pull power. Does anyone know which fuse these are on? While camping, I can just...
Selling a set of four Thule 387 feet (these have been discontinued). We bought these used for our L400, but never installed them. The 387 are pretty much the lowest feet you can use for a high-roof Delica and have 8" of clearance above the vehicle. Designed to work with square bars (not...
Highly recommend Trackside Motorsports in North Portland. They've aligned our Delica and Pajeros a couple times. Garth is a great dude!
