    Starting troubles

Though maybe that's just because there's no compression in the cylinders...

    Starting troubles

I was never able to get it to run and when I did turn it over by hand there wasn't the familiar feel of the buildup of compression and sound of release, so you might be onto something.

    Starting troubles

Well eff.. My mistake, it was 420 on cylinder 4. Nothing for cylinder 3 on both tests. Cranked 10 times for all the cylinders and about a tsp of oil. The guage might be crap but it seems the wet readings being that much higher doesn't bode well.

    Starting troubles

So I got around to buying a harbor freight compression tester and I had 300 psi in 1,2, and 4 while 3 had zero. Wet numbers were 390, 360, and 420 in 1,2 and 3? Not too excited about those numbers but can anyone give me a clue to where to focus next?

    Starting troubles

Ok next time I have time I'll re-bleed it. Also here's a video for anyone with a tuned ear that might hear something that I don't.

    Starting troubles

Sounds terrifying haha. Maybe the return line, I'll look at that. I used the bulb primer and then went to cranking with the injectors loose, then when i wasn't getting any traction i tightened them all and bled them individually.

    Starting troubles

I just replaced my cylinder head but i can't get the engine to fire... The starter engages and as I'm cracking the fuel lines there is fuel coming out of all of them, but it's not spurting out as it should. Except for cylinder 3 which has just fine pressure. Any thoughts? It was running just...

Mice and Pack Rats, oh my :-o

I agree, it can be maddening! I used a glue trap on the battery to get rid of a couple in Colorado. Also a sprinkling of cayenne kept them out where I live in Washington now.

    Front tank fuel guage

Looking for a new or used front fuel tank guage.

    Tuning the engine questions

Yeah this is making a little more sense, especially with the input from @InstrumentOfPeace and yours about the rpm range. I like the idea of turning down my main fueling screw because my psi is around 12 and my ratio is down below 14 (which is where I think I set the gauge to bottom out at)...

    Tuning the engine questions

So this tuning has still been giving me grief. I have the wastegate actuator fixed for the second time now, so back to square one...hooray! I've been adjusting the boost diaphragm and spring my fueling is still well below 20:1 I can adjust the idle screw but i wanted to get out some basic...

3 tries and my transmission pan is still leaking...

Thanks! The manual I have downloaded didn't have that handy sub chapter... Did you ever find/fix your leak?

3 tries and my transmission pan is still leaking...

I've looked at the shop manual but I can't find the transmission pan torque specs. Does anyone know them? And the filter bolt(s) torque too if that's listed somewhere?

    Fuel gauge sensor

So my fuel gauge has stopped working and I'm fairly certain it's tied to the front fuel sensor being old and tired. Looking to replace it though it looks like there are a few different models MB434268, MB572158, MB572159. Does anyone now the difference between the three/ how do I know which...
