What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

I've been thinking I needed to try a heat gun on the bumper of my other car ('14 HV37 Skyline/Infiniti Q50) to reshape a dent that got made above one of the parking sensors (and therefore bent it out of alignment) but I've been too nervous about damaging it further to try tbh.

Do you have a name for your Delica?

New Zealanders are not well-known for clever names. ...anyway here's Big Red. ^seen here four-wheeling above the Māniototo region of NZ with Jade (My Dad's 4WD)

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Replaced the 'keep-alive' wire that was supposed to be preventing the head unit from factory resetting every time I turned the engine off, and in the process established that because my van appears to be the base model, there's more than enough room to get hands and tools in to swap out the...

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Took the van for its 6-monthly roadworthiness inspection, asked the mechanic if he could also check the timing while he was looking for things to fail me on (several little things, but surprisingly not rust)...the timing is >30 degrees out.

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Installed that head unit. I was simultaneously right and wrong about the dash, the wiring was going into strip connectors but there’s an absolute acreage of space in the back for replacing the speakers when that time comes, I can fit two whole hands in behind the passenger speaker! Only thing I...

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Attacked the carburettor with some clean-r-carb and a toothbrush. Also procured a new head unit. Looking forward to the hellscape of wiring that’s lurking behind that dashboard

    Kia ora from New Zealand!

My panelbeater managed to squeeze me in two days before Christmas to have that A-pillar rust removed on the driver's side, and I believe the passenger side's already been done, so that's something.

    Kia ora from New Zealand!

I often get people asking if I've lifted it, but no, the shocks are stock. There are also no rear seats in currently so there's definitely no weight in the back right now :p. There's plenty of fixing to do, but nothing stopping it from running/driving/passing WOFs (fingers crossed on that last one!)

    Kia ora from New Zealand!

Hi all, hope you’re doing well :) My name is Andrew, I work as an AV engineer in New Zealand and I was recently transferred the ownership of my father in-law’s ‘91 L300 4WD. He bought it new whe my wife was 2 years old, and I'm glad it's still in the family. I'm likely to be doing a lot of DIY...
