    Transmission cooler

I took two stock steering shafts because I wanted a u-joint at each end, plus I needed it longer for my lift. I used a piece of heavy walled tube to sleeve the two ends together and then welded it in place.

    4D56 VGT Turbo

Thanks for the reply. I could never get solid performance or spec info from SAITO so I passed, can’t imagine that the performance difference is that big.

12.4 volts at idle and 14 volts under load or there about.

Alternator may be on its way out. Check your voltage with a multi meter at idle and under load.

    Clutch won't engage

If you’re going to replace the clutch I would just replace everything. Including the rear main seal since you will have the transmission pulled. Trans bushings as well, it all needs to be replaced anyway.

Rubber transmission hose can be purchased at any auto parts store. I replaced the entire trans cooler with a unit that has a fan. Is your trans temp high?

    Head sourcing

Do you have an original Mitsubishi head? Nomadic has empty head casting for sale, I would consider swapping the original Mitsubishi head components to a new casting. Probably still better components than you can buy.

    Head sourcing

These heads are super simple, I don’t even know where you could come up with the quality components. Buy a complete head and tear it down. Take the empty head to a machine shop and have them check it for square and flat. Replace all the aluminum threads with steel ones and then lap the valves...

    Head sourcing

I recommend CCauto over just about anyone else. Always good to work with and quality parts. I would avoid anything on Craig’s list, didn’t even know that was still a thing, probably a scam.

L300 4d56 balance shaft delete question.

After looking at three or four different 4D56 I have not been able to find any bearing feeds that run to the balance shafts. Are they located in the lower front case?

L300 4d56 balance shaft delete question.

There are no oil holes in the bushings or oil ports that hold/ feed the balance belts. I see no way that the balance belts feed oil to any part of the engine. Oil pressure has remained the same regardless of running or deleting the balance belts. I have not run a balance belt for thousands of...
