Tailgate stuck and running light issue

My tailgate is also currently stuck. '92 L300 I removed the back hardboard panel thing, and I can manually move the lock rod up and down. Where the handle normally pushes something down, it won't go down far enough and there's something jamming it, but the lock rod seems like it moves freely...

I did remove this piece. I did not pay attention to those splines at all. I will try that!

Engine turns over if I floor it, but won’t start without that extra help

Fwiw, when the gas pedal is down, it sounds like it should with a normal idle. And has an rpm of 750rpm, so idk if that means anything

Engine turns over if I floor it, but won’t start without that extra help

Hi, I recently embarked on a journey to replace my leaky fuel injection pump 92 L300 Here’s my current problem: The car starts and runs if I have the accelerator pedal pressed. But if I give it no gas, it dies. Here’s what I did: I tried resealing it myself. Removed and resealed the IP...

Injection Pump Reseal or Replace Resources: I’m taking a plunge

Anyone ever considered this injection pump meant for the Hyundai d4bf? Looks like it has everything in the same configuration as my zexel. I wonder if it’d also need the fuel injectors replaced like the one from Delica parts usa...

Injection Pump Reseal or Replace Resources: I’m taking a plunge

Unfortunate update: I got everything back in place after doing my own reseal. The pump is still leaking. I’m gonna order a remanufactured one from eBay. I have a 92 l300 4d56t Anyone know if I can be sure this pump will fit? Or offer advice for finding a new one...

Injection Pump Reseal or Replace Resources: I’m taking a plunge

I believe all of this is true, however I had an extremely hard time getting to certain fasteners without removing the radiator and the driver’s side panel. I wasted a lot of time, someone more skilled than me might be able to do it. But what ended up being really helpful and fairly quick...

Injection Pump Reseal or Replace Resources: I’m taking a plunge

I’m a DIYer and decided to have a go at resealing my injection pump myself. I had a leak at the banjo bolt/fuel inlet and on the top plate cover. Unfortunately since the screw is on the under side of the pump, it was near impossible to just try to replace the top plate seal. So I’m removing the...

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

FTR, I understand it’s just unscrewing those 4 Allen screws, but I’m curious if I need to take any other steps before I do that

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

I reached under and found that this was just fastened from the underside.. I don’t really understand how to take off just the top cover. I really appreciate the advice, is there something you can help show me? Most resources seem not to dissemble until it’s out of the vehicle.

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

Ok, I ordered a reseal kit. I was looking at the pump again and noticed this threaded hole is empty… am I missing a bolt or screw? What should it look like?

Oh and if I do just those parts.. do I have to worry about timing?

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

Thank you! Do you have a good resource for replacing without pulling the pump? I think I read someone talking about doing it and needing to ensure the control shaft doesn't disengage from the governor.. but the linked article was to a blog that doesn't exist anymore. I'm looking at this...

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

Looks like there is still a little weeping leak around this. What do we call it? an accelerator pump? Anyone able to identify this part? Not sure if it needs rebuilt or what to do here. Any help is appreciated.

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

Ok, so I found out it’s called a banjo bolt. And someone who removed it (a former mechanic I went to) probably damaged it. The new mech got me a new banjo bolt and that stopped the leak there.

Fuel leak at inlet to fuel pump

Having some trouble with this little bolt here. When I start the engine, you can see the fuel starting to leak from under the bolt. ‘92 L300 I had the washer replaced by a mechanic close by and he says it’s still leaking a bit. Anyone had this problem before? Maybe I can point him toward a...

    Los Angeles mechanic

Alex has been my go to since last May. He does a good job and charges ok prices, but yeah the timeline thing for him sucks. It’s so frustrating for him to tell me to drop it off, then call back a week later and he hasn’t even looked at it. Then he looks at it and it needs a part that won’t ship...

Do you at least have the emissions sticker? She’s not wrong on it, but it’s not exactly clear that she’s right either in the law. The vin verification form allows for “other”explanations on why the federal emissions sticker is missing, and personally I think it makes sense to try to argue the...
