    Here's a batter/startermotor riddle for you:

Check out this link https://www.autotechnician.org/updated-starter-voltage-drop-test-explained-in-plain-english/ You can test the resistance of that little wire with your multimeter but you're less likely to get an answer by resistance testing the big wire.

X-country for Xmas: WA to SC

I’ll admit, I just added myself this morning ha. I have gotten a few texted pictures from friends in Alcoa and Tellico of another elusive L300. Mystery solved

Where to install sensors for AFR/EGT/Oil Pressure/Oil Temp/Coolant Temp/Turbo Boost etc...

On my van I disconnected the overheat switch and wired it directly to ground. My A/C fans weren't coming on with my A/C, causing the van to get very hot very fast whenever I turned the air on. I narrowed it down to that sensor never giving ground so now when I have my A/C on, the fans are always...

X-country for Xmas: WA to SC

Good luck on your trip! While I'm not a commercial mechanic anymore, I did rebuild my Delica engine and am pretty handy with a set of tools. I'm in the Knoxville area so if you have any concerns while in the east TN area, feel free to send me a PM.

    L300 Oil Cooler removal

You are correct. My 1988 turbo is oil cooled only. You might look into the T3 radiator. I had the eBay radiator first and ended up ordering the T3 version. I wasn't overheating but I really wanted to compare to see if there was much difference. The difference is substantial. A lot more cooling...

I did all my dealings with them through facebook messenger.

    Shout out for T3 4x4

I didn't think it was bad. I did have to pay the PayPal fees and before it got delivered I paid $41 for import charges to UPS. At the end of the day I paid roughly $1,480 for $940 worth of parts. For the quality of parts, speed of delivery, and amazing communication, I think it was worth it...

    Shout out for T3 4x4

It was two separate boxes, obviously pretty large. About $400 for shipping. I guess they can only send via express right now but wow was it ever express. He told me "to expect it soon" on Sept 18th, he sent me the UPS tracking number the 23rd, and it was on my doorstep the 25th.

    Camping Box

Amazing work! If only I had a pop top. I've slept on everything flat with a queen sized blowup mattress on top and head room is minimal.

    Shout out for T3 4x4

I also can attest to the professionalism and quickness of T3. I recently ordered a snorkel, sliding window gaskets, window vents, a radiator, hoses, and a thermostat. Communication is excellent, and shipping took less than a week. They also sent tons of pictures of all the items being packaged...

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Installed my new radiator from T3 workshop. Did a side by side comparison with the eBay radiator and holy crap there are a ton of differences beyond general craftsmanship. This new radiator should cool significantly better. I wasn't having problems with heat, was just curious about the...

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Put in a new fan clutch, guess my old one had been slowly dying and it finally started getting hotter than I was comfortable with a few days ago. It was spinning like a pinwheel when cold!! Had the greasy looking back so I assume all the unicorn blood escaped. Picked one up at my local...

    Help getting rightTiming Belt

My bad buddy, I should have gone into that. We have the same engine so I just pointed you to what I used when I put a belt on my van. Growler is correct, as usual haha. If you cross reference the Mitsubishi part #, you'll find all the info as far as how many teeth and what not. It takes the same...

    Replacement Aluminum Radiator

I went with a GPI racing radiator. So far I like it fine. Cruising at 60-65mph with EGT's steady around 450-500 and ambient temps about 75F, my hot side temps were between 179-183 and my cold side was between 105-120. On a warmer day like 90 and above with the same inputs, my hot side stays...

What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

It worked fine after I had a local machine shop cut about 2mm off of the head surface. I brought them both heads and they took a measurement from valve seat to head surface with their machine, then the machine made the new head the same as the old. You can see the pictures and info in my build...

4d56 wont run after head swap

I also had about 2mm taken off of my head from a local machine shop, cost me $100. The other option is to fit the newer style pistons to raise the compression ratio but that's more expensive and more intensive if your engine is in good shape. I couldn't find the new style pistons in the overbore...

    Oil dipstick tube length

That looks a quart high to me. I’d try to suction out that much if you have the tool. A little too much oil, like a little, is no big deal in my book. But that much in this engine, you’re risking seals starting to leak, or making small leaks worse. Even my aluminum half moon seal leaked when I...

    Coolant gurgle/drips overboard

With the factory specified 13psi radiator cap on our vans the water should be able to reach 251F or 122C before boiling over. In my opinion that's plenty hot enough. I would suspect your current cap may be a little tired and leaking at the edge of its pressure rating.

    Coolant gurgle/drips overboard

The boiling point does drop at higher altitudes but it shouldn’t matter in a closed pressurized system like the radiator. I would check your radiator cap and make sure it’s holding what it should. I would guess the extra smoke was caused by the engine running slightly rich. The higher altitude...
