I ended up using two size 36 everstart Maxx’s from Walmart. Have had them in my rig for over a year and they did great this last winter! Have even taken them off-roading and they don’t move around much.

An even easier method that I did was use the OEM upper strut braces, grind off the spot welds so the pin could come out and just install these from amazon or some ball joints with similar specs. They fit perfectly and don't rub at all...

First thing I did when I got the van a month or so ago was put in new glow plugs… I’ll check them individually just to be safe though. Should I look into getting a new controller if they all work? Also does the l400 have a 12v and a 6v GP relay like the l300’s do?

Well, finally got around to testing this. Looks like something is wrong with the glow plug relay. Any good threads on here to help diagnose it? I’ll probably put in a bypass switch for the time being so I can get the plugs to heat up

Just got a '95 L400! Wondering if any Utah owners have had any luck with getting injectors and injection pump cleaned anywhere? Trying to find a good option for a diesel shop, poor guy is struggling in the cold mornings.

@DustAngel Yes sorry, there is crank. And I have tried priming the fuel pump, but the issue persists. Did you take it to a specialized JDM shop? Or was a diesel shop able to rebuild it? @sk66 I have not tested the glow plugs like that, but the the relays for sure do the first and second clicks...

Same! I’m trying to replace batteries in my L400 as well but it’s a double battery set-up on the diesel. Any suggestions would be obliged!
