So true SK66, and the only way to not get irate at your needy vehicle is to recognise that going in. I dont think that paying a ton more for a van will eliminate any of that probability (except maybe getting one with a fresh D4b..) so we have to adjust ourselves to accept it and anticipate...

Feet, I AM a van man. Deep down. I also hate giving up on things that i've taken responsibility for but sometimes you just have to tap out. What sucks is that the newer cars we've gotten are so damn BORING! Sure they're reliable, with cold AC and all that safety crap but good god are they anemic...

Yeah, I’m kinda hoping that the majority of the small bits of metal went out the old turbo, and not my new one. Only way to know would be to have it tested and cleaned I guess...that is if the failure was a year ago and not three days ago It’s a new head either way....

Well I got the exhaust manifold and turbo off today and I’m thinking my engine is F’ed. Look at the slug of metal I found in the second from front exhaust bore! I think the damage done last year was more extensive than I thought....chuckblack was right! There was definitely something wrong...
