4” lift front shocks

Hey guys my 99’ L300 came with a 4” lift already done from the first owner. My current shocks are so done I have to pull them out to extend them.

I have been back and forth with shockwarehouse looking for a fit but no luck.

My original shocks are ranchos to corroded to pull a number off of. 18.5” extended 12.25 compressed.

The lift has my suspension at 17” extended 15” compressed.

The length of shock isn’t too hard to find but one with a 0 degree bar pin for the lower mount with this length has not been easy, I’m not picky on the brand at this point.

Any help Is appreciated.

What do you mean by 0 degree bar pin?

I may be misunderstanding your comment, but most shocks will rotate slightly around the pin when installed, as the shocks are seldom perfectly vertical. It can take some force to rotate the shock around the pin during installation,
because the bushing surrounding the pin is tight and grippy.

For example, Bilstein front shock mount on an unlifted L300 (old photo - that nasty sway bar link has been replaced long ago.). You can see the shock is at angle to the mounting bracket.

You could also get something like this (IDK if that specific one would fit an L300 and whether the pin/axle would fit your shock of choice), but you'd be able to buy a shock with just an eye and no in-built pin, to expand your options (and slightly reduce the length needed since the mounting point is above where it would be on a 'normal' installation.

Never having to look for compatible shocks beyond entering my vehicle info into a website, the verbiage I was given for my lower mount was being called a 0 degree bar pin (according to kyb). That makes sense that you could rotate that bar pin slightly in the bushing. I figured I wasn’t the first guy on here to have a 4” lift on a star wagon and was hoping some one had a s/n off a shock that worked for them.

I do appreciate the mount options though, if I can’t find a bar pin mount that works I’ll drop back and punt with a similar type.

I think you're going down the right path of trying to find an aftermarket solution based on length. A lot of people here have 2" lifts, so there are known solutions for those shock lengths, but 4" lifted L300 is a bit more rare. If you find a solution, please post that info back here.

I can say that Delicaworks in Taiwan sells a 4" lift kit, with 'Progi' shocks (I can't find specs anywhere), but I don't know much about it, other than it exists/existed.
