Any recommendations on 3D printer?

want to buy 3D printer just to be able to make some plastic stuff when needed, but bit lost.
so many makers, so many devices.
i know some of the people in this place own 3D printers, and use to print some stuff for Delicas
i don't want anything industrial with enormous price tag, i don't plan to print out stuff for sale in huge number
would appreciate some input on the topic

For a first printer I would recommend a Creality Ender 3. It's a popular, well-known machine with lots of support and spare parts.

My current printer started life as an Artillery Genius, but it has a *lot* of upgrades now. I wouldn't recommend a standard Artillery printer, they look good but cut corners in critical places.

thanks a lot. we have it locally for under 200. https://www.123-3d.ie/Creality3D-Creality-3D-Ender-3-v3-SE-3D-printer-i10079-t115553.html
will go for it

thanks, @kbrown934
still too expensive to have it for printing once or twice a year.
i am not looking for a printer that will make me money
i will go for @Growlerbearnz recommendation
simple, not expensive, and fits my needs

I use Blender, but it's made for animation (I'm an animator so I already know my way around Maya, and Blender is very similar but free).

If I wasn't so set in my ways I'd learn FreeCAD. Fusion360 is the most common/standard parametric modelling software, but it's subscription only and doesn't work offline.

And then there's all the places to download models: Thingiverse, Printables, etc.

Thanks for reply. I run linux for ages, and blender is native to linux. never used it , but will try. i am not after some fancy stuff, but would be nice to have some enclosures printed out, some faceplates, maybe.
FreeCAD seems to be what i need. just installed it and tried to create part, and it seems to be doable :)
sure, will take some time and learning, but for my purposes blender might be overkill
Thanks again
