It's been a long time here since this name has come up, but we recently had a client who got scammed by this company. Now that the supply of D4BFs are drying up more people are ending up there. Especially with the unrealistically low price. If anyone is about to buy a D4BF, be aware that there are very few real Hyundai OEM ones left and this company is definitely a scam. The other most common scams sell Chinese copies or in the situation of Korea Motors very rarely actually arrive.

Hyundai Power Plaza is the legitimate company in Korea that supplies engines by legal contract with Hyundai.
Nothing wrong with that company, they are not allowed to sell D4BF for repower purpose since last year.

If someone is trying to sell under their name, it will be a scam definitely.

Do not deal with anyone for D4BF purchase.

Thank you for the clarification Steven Lee!

hi Steven, I am just about to transfer funds to Weyman Lee from Hyundai Power Plaza Co (at this stage I presume it is Wyman Lee from HPP) for a new 4DBF motor. The fraud detection unit from my bank questioned the validity of the transaction and cited a number of red-flags
  1. The beneficiary on the Proforma invoice is Hwang Yeong Bo, not Hyundai Power Plaza Co, or you the director
  2. A Google search on Hyundai Power Plaza Co Hyundai Power Plaza - engine, industrial engine, generator, pump, agricultural machinery (ec21.com) shows a different address to that on the Proforma invoice
  3. A Google search leads to Gobiz Korea which show a different address to that on the Proforma invoice and a different address to Hyundai Power Plaza - engine, industrial engine, generator, pump, agricultural machinery (ec21.com) so there are three different addresses listed against Hyundai Power Plaza
  4. The negative posts on (1) D4BF Engine Purchase : Possible SCAM Hyundai Power Plaza Co | The Mitsubishi Delica Forum
  5. The company is using a Gmail account
Weyman's response was this;
I am not aware of this fraudulent act. under our company name but thank you for informing us.

As of last year Hyundai stopped supplying the D4BF Engine due to stop of production and now introduces the D4BB.

Early this year Hyundai has supplied a few D4BF Engines to be sold to individuals and not bulk sales.

We are a genuine Hyundai supplier in Korea. You are welcome to visit our Company at any time during working hours.

Please be advised of a brief company profile as per attached.

Our Accountant @Yeoung is incharge of this payment and delivery.

Our Company account has reached its yearly limit so we are under review for a new year.

In our country we have a limitation of USD by the Korean government.

Hope you understand.
Would you still want to proceed with your order?

Please confirm.

I guess it could be legitimate and out of a desire to get a new motor I want it to be legitimate but I am not so sure it would go well despite Abis Unum's successful purchase (and others) in this thread https://delicaforum.com/index.php?t...se-possible-scam-hyundai-power-plaza-co.1652/

What do you guys think? scam or legitimate? My only other option is a very expensive engine rebuild, probably NZ$10K for short-motor, cylinder head, rebuild injector pump & injectors, timing belt etc. still would be old turbo etc. what a Delica dilemma :-(

Thanks Steven
