Delica 1992 L300 Alternator Wanted

Hello everyone,

I have a Delica l300 1992 Chamonix with a 90amp alternator - I’m running a lot of lights on my rack and plan on being off grid quite a lot. Looking for an upgrade.

I’ve seen the karma 150amp alternator but I emailed them and they are out or not making them anymore.

I found a 110amp one online (screenshot attached), does anyone know if this is quality or not or experience with this? I’ve attached a photo.

if anyone has a source for an alternator that will fit my Delica and is 110 amps + please let me know!

Be aware that most of the higher amperage alternators actually output a lower amperage at lower rpms; unless the alternator is notably larger. To allow the alternator to generate/carry more amperage it uses field windings of larger diameter wire, but that causes it to generate a lower amperage at the same RPM because fewer windings fit. To create more amperage at the same rpm requires more windings of the same diameter; which requires more space.

Point being, you might actually be better off with a lower output alternator. I have no idea how most of the chinese alternators are rated; but I suspect it's the max output.

You need 2 belts pulley with 12mm mounting bolt system to block ( oil pump ). If you need 110amp, we have Korea Starex alternator. But you need to modify output connector a bit. Also we have Korea market new 90amp alternator in stock as it does not need any modifications.
