Good Products for Delicas

We need a thread for good products that work for our vans.

For example, I was looking for a good toolbox that didn't take up all the room behind my third row. But the clearance under the third row seat is pretty low, so most boxes don't fit there. But, FYI, this toolbox fits perfectly:

Slides right under. And it was the widest one I could find that was the perfect 6 inches tall. I was able to fit a lot in this box. Complete basic tool set. Jumpers. etc.

Our is camperized, so these tips are more for that kinda thing.

Velcro cable ties
We LOVED having velcro cable ties all over. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUY1TXV/ref=twister_B019F9JJ30?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 We picked up something similar at JoAnne's Fabrics. They're good for storing small things on the headliner up front, too. Nice given the relative lack of convenient storage.

Because the headliner is sorta fuzzy, these stick great and give you and easy way to:
  • Hang sunglasses
  • I used them to hang my regular glasses over the bed at night
  • Tie back the curtains
  • Hold a map or small items around/above the driver
  • You can hang a cellphone over the bed platform to watch a movie before you sleep
Magnetic hooks

There are small metal bars on the headliner about in line with the back of the door. We used these to hang stuff like USB LED lights, glasses, headlamps, our InReach, other little stuff. Does a great job of keeping small items out of the bed and easy to reach when you need to get up in the middle of the night.

Bungee straps
We also ran a bungee strap between the two "oh, shit" handles on the passenger side, looped a paper towel and TP roll through, and draped other small towels so they were out of the way.

Awesome! Can you post a pic of it installed?

I posted one pic with it pulled out a bit so you could see it better. It sits flush without coming into the third row. The second picture and third picture were taken with the box at the same depth.

I also recently ordered floor mats from Japanese Yahoo Auction: https://www.jauce.com/auction/d311801594

The shipping was not cheap, but I am very happy with this order.

They fit really well, and the quality is plenty fine. I ordered the grey, which matched pretty well with the grey interior I already have. People riding with me have assumed they are stock. I don't use the front mats right now because I have rubber mats I like better. I'll post pictures in the "Products" thread. (note, I originally posted the back mat was a bad fit. I had it backwards. User error).

Here are some pics . . . unfortunately, I took these at night, so the quality is bad. There is no red stain. That is my flash fighting with the interior light:

The floormats look great! And I have this idea to carpet that tool box and affix it to the floor. Make it blend in better so I can leave stuff in there full time and not worry about it being spotted.

It comes with a little mounting system of some sort. I didn't study it.

My hunch is the mounting system is for ATV front racks. Think I'm going to give this similar one a try

Less than half the price and Prime shipping. Dimensions are slightly different, but with Amazon's return policy if it doesn't fit I'm not too worried about it.

That's likely the identical box, just branded differently.

I do note a .25" difference in advertised height. My only concern there is that, with my floormats, I really don't think I have the 1/4" of clearance. But I bet this is the same box with just different measurement approaches.

Got it today. It's a snug fit, but a good snug. When the third row seat locks in from being folded up it puts just enough pressure on it that I don't worry about it moving around, but not so much that it's dented/damaged.
