L300 Alignment (L039G)

Delica-L300-91

Hi,

I'd like to premise this by saying that I have no knowledge on alignment specs whatsoever.

I have a L300 S-L039G 1991 which is the pickup version and comparing the dimensions, I'm not sure the alignment specs from the manual of the L300 relates to my version. Had to change a lot of suspension components and tie rods and the truck is currently in dire of need of an alignment.

I did check this alignement thread

I measured the wheel base of mine and it does seem to corespond to the equivalent of the Mitsubishi L300 4WD LWB

I also did find this website which seems to be alignment specs from a alignment tool manufacturer.

Any opinion regarding these alignment specs which is allegedly for the L300 4x4 VAN LWB compared to these alignment specs which seems to be for a Chassis cab version ?

I've attached the specs for future references if the website referred website ever goes down.

Thanks for the help !

The main difference is the toe in spec, and I don't like the van's spec anyway; zero toe wanders all over the place, especially on peaked/paved roads. I'd go with the chassis/cab version.

The Chassis-CAB one is for the L03#,L06# 2WD chassis; the 4WD-VAN one is for the P2#,P3#,P4* 4WD chassis. I'll try to get the L03# 4WD chassis wheel alignment data for you, but it will not be in the next few days.

CAMBER AND CASTER ADJUSTMENT:
  • Adjustment of camber is by increasing or decreasing the thickness of the camber adjusting shim provided between the upper arm shaft and the crossmember.
Camber adjusting shim part number: MB176288 (1.0 mm), MB176289 (2.0 mm)
  • Adjustment of caster is by turning the upper arm shaft with the upper arm shaft removed from the crossmember.
  • When camber or caster is adjusted, remove load from the arm by removing the torsion bar adjusting nut.

That would be awesome ! My appointment for the alignement is on the 2024-05-01. Figured I'd figure it out by then hahaha

I located the 1986 edition of the Lubrication & Tune-Up Guide, so here is the wheel alignment specifications for the L300 L03# 4WD van/wagon chassis. Outside of Japan, this chassis is as close as you can get to the Delica L03# 4WD truck chassis.

FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Caster+3°45' ± 30'
Camber+1° ± 30'
Toe-in1-4 mm at the rim
2-8 mm at tyre tread centre
