Hello Michiganders! We've got an L300 currently insured in Washington through Progressive. We're going to be relocating to Michigan and while (I believe) Progressive is an option, wondering what experience others have had?
Michigan auto insurance?

I couldn't insure directly through progressive. I had to use Hagerty. It's been kind of pricey, I need to shop around as well.

Hi Intrepidor. We're in Wisconsin. I see that you're currently in Washington. We just got a 1996 L300 Star wagon. Our son is actually taking the van and relocating to the Spokane area in amount a month or so. How's registration of these in Washington? Any issues? In Wisconsin we have to register them as a collector vehicle. Any advice on getting these registered would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey BSP64, the van is actually on its way to Michigan as we speak, but your son will be in good company in Washington.
I didn’t have really any trouble at all, they just added a few numbers to the VIN (to comply with US numbers) and registered it as a passenger van (no collector designation needed).

I’ll also update this post that I went with a local insurance company who ultimately brokered my insurance through “Auto-Owners Insurance”. They had no issues insuring our Delica as well as our upgraded ‘82 VW Westfalia (at the appraised value) and prices are reasonable.

I had hagerty. It was expensive. I now have http://fulloctaneinsurance.com/ cost about half as much.
