Ill quickly introduce myself, my name is Euegene. I have been born on a Delica oriented Island on a remote island 30km away from Hokkaido that used to be Japanese. Its called Sakhalin and its in Russia.
I have been around Delicas my whole life. Grew up in a L300 and L400
As much as I remember myself we have been always on fun roadtrips smashing through rivers Dunes and mountains of my island back in the 90s. There were many Pajeros Safaris Surfs Land Cruisers etc...
Now I live in Canada and I own one L400 myself. Typical 4M40 TD
Not without problems at this stage but ofcourse a major overhaul project is coming in.
My major problem at this stage is that I cant get the engine to spin up while in gear. When the car idles in P I can rev the engine to the redline no problem. But when when I shift into D or R the car seems to struggle in full throttle or after 2.000RPM Black smoke coming out and the engine starts to make clanking knocking sound.
Just so you see the problem I made a video a while back. Since then I didn't have chance to diagnose or work on the car.

If anyone knows whats wrong here please dont hesitate to share your thoughts. I have been messeged once on my FB on this matter with a brief explanation about a no name filter being installed in a blind rivited rocker box that gets contaminated and needs to be drilled out, but I am not even sure of where its located.
