Heya, I’m a Washington driver but I’ll be all over the state of NM for work for the spring/summer. I’ll be living in my van. And I’m feeling very nervous about the possibility of it having any mechanical issues while I’m out there. The delica map doesn’t show any mechanics listed there but a few delica owners in the state.
Does anyone have any experience with shops being down to work on yr vans? It would be nice to have a few shop numbers on hand just incase I run into any issues while out there.

There are a smattering of Delica owners here in the Land of Enchantment but no shops that I know of that work on these vans. There's a dude in El Prado (near Taos) who just began importing/re-selling Delica's and other JDM vans and campers (for astronomical prices). AFAIK he doesn't service them tho. My best advice is learn to do your own work and get your van completely sorted mechanically before doing any sort of extensive travel. Probably not the answer you were looking for.

Yeah, obvs I’m gunna make sure it’s all good before heading out, but in my experience, no matter where you think it’s at, shit always goes wrong when yr the furthest away from yr home. And knowing how to work on yr car is not particularly helpful when yr broken down on the side of the road thousands of miles away from home with no where to get it towed to. You know what I’m saying? So yeah, not the advice I was looking for. I’m looking for tips of where you could tow a van to for some help in an emergency in New Mexico...

late reply here but maybe helpful for if others end up searching for mechanics in northern New Mexico- I've currently got mine with Fast-Foreign Auto Services (after having another shop pass my van off after trying to look at it for a week), who says they've done some light work on Delicas in the past. They didn't seem too excited about taking my van in and I haven't gotten full word of a successful fix to a starting issue I've run into but they had good references and were more open to trying. In general, its unfortunately a bit of a JDM-specialist mechanic desert (ha) out here.

Hey Myla, I just had my Delica towed into FAST for a starting issue. They were the only hope that I have in the area so I hope they were able to help you.

We're up in Denver if the S is really HTF, hopefully not needed but "close" in the loosest of terms.
