Hey gang, got around to having new shocks and tires installed on the '93 L300 4wd Diesel Jasper. On the shock options thread, not sure I saw this model for the front shocks as an option, but I had a hard time finding the Bilsteins in stock, and my mechanic measured and matched KYB KG5603A (put the KG5494 on the back). Note, I have a 2" lift. Given how bad my ride was before with the really old ranchos, it feels like a ferrari now, but i'll leave it for others to opine on the quality of the KYBs that have more experience with multiple setups, just wanted to give another option if others were also having difficulty finding the Bilstein. Unfortunately they were not able to perform my alignment as they observed play in the left front inner tie rod, and some play with the left front wheel bearing. I searched around a bit for these part #'s to see if I could find something on the quick compatible. I believe I can use any of the below from GB for the front wheel bearings:
Mitsubishi- MB092749
*allegedly* cross references to:
Beck/Arnley- 0513632 (Bearing and Race)
National- Set 47 (Bearing and Race)
National- LM102949 (Bearing) LM102910 (Race)
SKF- BR50 (Bearing and Race)
Timken- Set 47 (Bearing and Race)
Timken- LM102949 (Bearing) LM102910 (Race)
Any strong suggestions (i.e. you installed and it seems fine) on this from experience that would reduce the doubt created by the word "allegedly"?
I do have a 2" lift, but I'm not sure that makes a difference with the tie rods, correct? I was planning to just replace both the inner and outer on both sides to be safe, does anyone have an onshore part number that they have used? Thx!
