Transmission mounts

Hey!

I’m seeing a few different things here. Looking for clarification on replacing transmission mounts.

I have engine mounts going in the week and want to move on to transmission mounts.

What works best? They can be found locally?

Thanks
Colin

One of OEM AT mount has been discontinued in Japan unfortunately.

In reading growlerbearnz's detailed post on this, what I have bought (and not installed yet) are the Febest NAB-134 bushings for the uppers (very available). I do not believe you can find OEM uppers anywhere, and these are close (1 mm diameter too big and 6 mm to wide, so they and the receiving existing brackets need cleaned well to push into existing brackets and modified in width by a small amount to fit the control arm). Now the lowers, I found OEM MB581261 recently on Amayama. This includes the bracket and bushing. Unfortunately they told me the other Lower bracket and bushing is no longer in stock (not sure if it will ever be?). What I have done is bought 2 of the MB581261 brackets, as the 2 lower bushings are supposedly the same. Will need to cut this bushing out of the the new bracket to install in the existing bracket, noting the importance of orienting correctly as it is an off center bushing (bushing are the same, but the brackets are quite different). This is for an auto, '93 L300. Will let you know how it goes (and maybe writing this out so someone can QA my approach before I start cutting and pounding!).

forget which ones, but i think i bought the ones off Karrma for the lower and have never been able to get them installed....however, I replaced the upper with the OEM parts. Engine mounts made a much bigger difference in terms of ride quality IMO. Couldnt really say I noticed a difference for the transmission bushings other than knowing that its a new part and feeling glad that its one more old crusty rubber piece replaced.
