Hi @vondeutchvw ! I'm in Utah and I've got my eyes on purchasing a Delica. Any insight/tips/things I should know specific to Utah registration or other legal stuff? How easily do these pass Utah emissions tests... stuff like that? Thanks!

It’s not too difficult to register here, emissions are not bad either. Are you looking for an L300 or L400?

If it is older than a 97 and a diesel it is exempt from emissions. Otherwise it may pass if all of the equipment (emissions) is functioning. OBD2 cars get sniffed via the port and they just check to see if everything reads properly.

So if it a 96 (I think) or newer it’s just a plug in thing if it has the port.

Just got a '95 L400! Wondering if any Utah owners have had any luck with getting injectors and injection pump cleaned anywhere? Trying to find a good option for a diesel shop, poor guy is struggling in the cold mornings.

Looking for an import mechanic or a well stocked garage

My van is all stock and I’m pretty sure it needs an oil change, having just rolled over the 81KM sticker on the windshield. I already have all the parts…

@delikilpat Nice to meet a fellow Delica owner in SLC. Steve's Automotive Specialists on 2300E has worked on my Delica a bit, and they're not intimidated by it. For stuff like an oil change or brakes I'm sure they'll be fine. They serviced my AC. if you need work on a diesel engine,
Impact Auto And Diesel is going to be a good option. Jeff, the guy that runs it, has experience with Delicas, and though I get the impression he doesn't love working on weird cars with hard-to-get parts, I think he'll do the job right better than places with no experience. I just changed my oil myself for the first time, and it was pretty easy. If you'd like to come by my house sometime I'd be happy to walk you through it. BTW, your van is my van's twin!
