    Delica Truck tranny question.

My 95 JB500 camper, 4D56T, 5 speed, hi/lo transfer, has parts that are L300 similar, and parts that are not compatible. The question came up, is the Truck tranny the same as the van? The truck (or camper) (P25T) is bigger & slower. Not sure what it's load capacity is.

Oh, and also btw, the Thetford key for the cassette door, don't lose that key.

The cap has a springy function, push it in while turning. Same with the water cap. And DON'T lose the cap or key, it's a Unicorn, trust me. My diesel cap wouldn't lock, eventually I found the cap in Germany and had to buy it through a re-shipping service. And btw, check out the JB500 / JB470...

    Delica JB500 Camper

Old thread, but I had to add an external 5psi electric fuel pump, could not find the reason air was getting in the system, removed and checked EVERYTHING, tank included. Had the IP rebuilt at an IP shop, talked to the owner, he said absolutely NO problem to the IP if an electric is added as a...

    Delica JB500 Camper

Just happened on this post. . My JB500, 4D56T gets about 19mpg, maybe even 20 at times. When I tow a small motorcycle trailer & bike that is about 500lbs total, then I'm at about 18mpg. My injection pump was rebuilt last year, that improved mileage 25%.

    New exhaust, turbo issues

Is that safe, plugging the valve hole? Mine was blowing open, but it was my waste gate having trouble. The OEM valve is at 12psi. I bought a thin profile 36mm "crowfoot" wrench on a 1/2" drive to get mine off. Be careful. They can be bitchy. ACOS Thin Crowfoot Nut Wrench 1.42"(36mm)...

I had both my mechanic, Northeast Auto Imports, and the shop that overhauled my HP pump both say an electric pump is fine. The rebuild shop, "Diesels", in Bow, NH, said specifically that 5-7 psi is perfect, he actually couldn't understand why there wasn't a lift pump already. I've got about...

    EGT placement.

My Delica JB500 camper is built on the "truck" , there are some different parts then the van, such as there's no EGR on the truck. My question is, an EGT sensor can go either in front of or behind the turbo. If in front, the manifold comes off. Advice was that behind is OK, it's a different...

Well, one thing I did on your list was add an electric fuel pump before the filter. I was having issues with air getting in The system, had the HP pump overhauled, new fuel filter pump housing, dropped the tank, checked all hoses....still had to reprise the filter pump frequently. Added the...

    VIN # location

And adding "0"s to make it 13 digits is what I did in MA. Actually, my AAA office insurance agent for Progressive did that, it had to be entered manually into the registry system. The MA RMV was easy after that to get the plates.

    Air in my fuel system.

The HP pump has to suction fuel through the system. I'm used to using the "lift pump" term from other diesel engine setups where there is a separate mechanical or electric fuel pump delivering fuel to the injection pump. This VE pump has to pull and push fuel alone. Anyway, the pickup tube was...

    Air in my fuel system.

Soft lines were replaced. The filter does not lose prime when the van is parked for a week or two, only while running. The HP pump's lift pump is the only suction aspect upstream from the filter. Don't know how air could back down to the filter. It's vexing.
