    No power!

Okay, that’s good news - now I just need to find the break in the line. Do any of these relays relate to the alternator? I heard one of them clicking on and off like mad the other night and I suspect that’s related now. I know the furthest to the right is the glow plug relay.

    Silencing the Speed Chime

Well this worked, but was way more invasive than I would've liked. For anyone with the same cluster setup you should be able to just remove this screw. I'm 90% sure it's the screw circled and if it isn't it's definitely the one above it. Sorry for not being exact, but hopefully someone can...

    No power!

I'm stuck in Savannah with an alternator problem too - I made it about 150 miles when I noticed the dash lights were dim and the radio began cutting out. According to the battery tester at the auto parts store I'm not getting any power at all from the alternator. The main 100A fuse at the...

    Silencing the Speed Chime

Just finished reassembling the panel and I think I found the trigger for the chime, but I couldn't find the actual chime. It looks like this small copper tab makes contact with the barrel below the speedo meter when it's above 100 km/h. I really should've taken more photos before removing the...

    Silencing the Speed Chime

That's what I expected to find last time I went hunting, but the back of my cluster is just the PCB and connectors. Should I go a step further and remove the PCB to get behind the gauges?

    Silencing the Speed Chime

I'm on the first leg of a big 2,000 mile trip and this chime is slowly boring a hole through my eardrum. I found a thread on the Delica Canada forum that mentioned it was right behind the instrument panel, but I looked for quite a while and couldn't find it. Does anyone have a photo of the chime...

There's a Hole in my Delica

I sprayed it with aerosol Herculiner when I first got he van and it's held up much better than I'd expected the last couple months.

There's a Hole in my Delica

Here are a few photos of fixing the insulation that was burned or crushed while working and the final product with the underlayment. Tomorrow the subfloor goes which should make it much easier to work in the van as I'm getting real tired of the floor is lava foam routine. I'll hold off on photos...

There's a Hole in my Delica

I think we're on the same page with the plan. The idea from here is to insulate the box with polyiso and skin the inside of the box with plywood. I'm counting on the plywood floor to distribute the weight and some nylon straps to prevent the batteries from any up or down motion. I finished most...

There's a Hole in my Delica

With a ton of help from a friend we finished the compartment with one day of cutting/welding and one of grinding and painting. Everything is 14 GA cold rolled steel and absolutely overkill for the weight it'll be carrying. I'll post some photos when I test fit the batteries and build a strap...

There's a Hole in my Delica

Two months ago a pair of 200Ah Renogy AGM batteries I plan on using as auxiliary batteries were delivered to my walk up apartment by a very unhappy UPS driver. 130lbs each and about the size of a beagle I realized I'd need to work out somewhere clever to mount them as to not cut into my already...

Fitting Sony XAV-AX100 Head Unit into Bezel

The bracket's holes are in small recesses that locate on the head unit so modifying the bracket cleanly would be tough. Luckily, I'm incredibly interceptive and you don't have to because this bezel is removable via screws inside of the trim. I made this post and immediately realized I hadn't...

Fitting Sony XAV-AX100 Head Unit into Bezel

Finally got around to installing the Sony double din head unit today when I realized the black plastic bezel doesn't align with the face of the unit no matter which mounting holes I choose. It's either slightly too high or way too low. I see there are a ton of universal double din mounting kits...

Soon to be new owner in Minnesota

So great to see this going to someone on the forum. I was signing the papers and getting the deposit together on this exact Delica off the Nikkyo lot a few months ago when I found one I liked in the states. Please post more photos when it gets in!

    Permanently Sealing the Sunroof

Also, I’ll be posting photos of the bracket when I get back to my computer. I sent it of to be waterjet earlier today. The original design for a 1/8” piece of stainless steel with bends to match up with the existing brackets had to go out the window when I got quotes back on bending. Now it’s a...
