    Vacuum line sensor question

That controls A/C idle. The part that it's connected to on the injection pump pulls the throttle a bit to increase the idle speed when the A/C is engaged. Other side of the solenoid should go to the vacuum pump behind the alternator

Missing Gasket (assumed) - D4BF from March 2020 Purchase

@Kellyn, what's Karrma's / Hyundai's plan for time reimbursement for install of the gasket for those that are missing it?

New Pads, Brakes to the Floor

Wow. I agree it still sounds like possibly two separate issues (Master cylinder and something else). Try cracking the line to the right rear on the load sensing proportioning valve and see if you can get fluid out of the back of the proportioning valve, if not try cracking the line leading into...

New Pads, Brakes to the Floor

Bubbing is definitely not what you want to see. I used to be a mechanic on old Japanese cars (Datsuns) and have seen this specific scenario a few times.

New Pads, Brakes to the Floor

Of course it's not going to hurt anything to bleed the brakes and if you think there is a reason that would be suspect then that should be the first stop. However based on your description of the problem I wouldn't expect that to fix anything for you. It's still sounding like your master...

New Pads, Brakes to the Floor

Shouldn't matter too much. You can get more force with the engine running though so that's my suggested way.

New Pads, Brakes to the Floor

Agree with @sk66. Unless there's a leak it's probably a master cylinder seal that failed. This can occur if you've got old fluid with lots of contaminants in it. When you are changing pads you force nasty contaminated fluid from the calipers/lines back into the master cylinder. An easy test for...

    A/C Delete

Not aware of any peltier A/C systems for cars out there at the moment as the COP for a peltier system is currently not comparable to a vapor-compression system. However I know there is a lot of research currently being done on peltier systems to try to increase their power efficiency so perhaps...

Missing Gasket (assumed) - D4BF from March 2020 Purchase

@ccmickelson thanks for posting that. That helps me 100% verify that the gasket is missing on mine as well. They put the blue marker there to say it was good too! Here's a a photo I took before install that clearly shows that tab missing in the background

    New To Site: B-Line Performance

I'm about a week or two off from doing the Montero brake upgrade up front. Currently waiting on the last of the parts to show up. Will have some old tired lines that you can have. Additionally I may be interested in a bit more form fitting solution for the upgraded brakes rather than what...

    Re-gearing the diffs

Hey all, Anyone have experience with regearing a Delica's front and rear axles? I have a manual and an strongly considering regearing the thing for better highway cruising. I have a serious curiosity about looking into 98-99 Montero Sport's 4.27 (possibly with a rear locker!) front and rear...

    Washington Mechanics Thread

If you're in the Seattle area and are needing to get your radiator replaced or serviced I would highly recommend Greenwood Radiator Services. They're old school and deal in copper radiators only and managed to save the terrible radiator that was installed in my van when I bought it. He also...

D4BF swap - additional details for early L300's?

Hey all, I recently finished installing a D4BF into an '87 Delica and while following @Growlerbearnz excellent write up I came across a couple small bits of missing information that I assume can be chalked up to mine being an early Delica (or user error, always assume user error). First up. my...

New D4BF Delica Owner in the Seattle area

Hey all, Finally able to introduce myself here! My wife and I bought @TheMunkyHouse's 1987 manual Delica Exceed with a blown motor and bought one of @Kellyn's D4BFs. Well after being lazy for a year I finally completed the engine install and have begun driving the thing around. I have quite a...

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/918948052292724/ (for reference) My van is nearly identical to that van and based on my experience with getting this thing sorted out I would expect you to need to dump a lot of hours and/or money into it to get it really nice. If you're willing to live...

    The L300 Suspension Thread

Hey @na3s, I've had the same thought about the Montero Sport rear end. I might be interested in investigating that avenue if you still have the parts.
