*** The Official - "Delica Spotted" Thread ***

After traveling in Japan for two weeks now, I must report that I have not seen a single L300, even in rural places. My job took me to some very out of the way places in Kyushu, where there are quite some clunkers on the road, but nothing! Saw maybe one or two L400, a handful of D5 and, most...

L300 94 Super Exceed with new engine for sale

Hi all, haven't posted in a while, I live delica-less in Germany now, but some old timers might still know me. The widow of my friend Gary Ecker (RIP, known here as gardenerguy) asked me to help her sell Gary's Delica. Instead of going through a dealer, I figured there may be someone here...

Delica mechanic/ shop in Bend OR

This is an old thread from 2019, I've been Deli-less for many years now, but the shop, if it still exists, is Import Performance, at 20680 Empire Ave - Fabian (aka Krazykraut)

    Rest in Peace, Gary (Gardenerguy)

I just wanted to let you know, that a long time forum member and good personal friend of mine has passed away last night. Gardenerguy (Gary Ekkers of Bandon, Oregon) was a man of many talents and a wonderful human being. I met him and his wife, Cindy, parked in their Deli, somewhere on the 101...

Full set of L300 Delica dealer workshop manuals 1987-1998

Steven, I may be wrong then. The description on the Resources says: I had teamed up with Roger @PinkPig and ran the raw PDFs through my OCR/indexer and then uploaded them to a Google Drive folder. See earlier in this thread. Not sure what happened since then, I've been Delica-less and out of...

Full set of L300 Delica dealer workshop manuals 1987-1998

Thanks @sk66 for keeping those around. Whatever happened to keeping them in the Resources section? We have the scanned but not OCR'd versions there, maybe @Growlerbearnz can add them. It's really nice being able to search through all the PDFs.

    Looking to buy a L300

$2200 is really a decent price, but I would caution you that you will most certainly pour money into it. Even if the engine runs well, don't assume this can be your daily driver, and be prepared to wrench on it a lot. 180000 miles isn't necessarily bad for a diesel, but there must be a reason...

Delica L300 Double DIN Radio Trim

Looks great, but aren’t you worried that PLA is going to melt in summer? I’ve had various parts just sitting in the van during a 90 degree day and they became blobs. PETG should be better suited. - Fabian (aka Krazykraut)

    STOLEN DELICA PLEASE HELP

Just wanted to mention that there's a shop in Bend that has done Delica work in the past. It may be worth putting them on alert, in case they hear something. Import Performance Auto Repair on Empire Ave.

    Dash Instrument Gauge Problems

For me it was the same: in the morning, driving to work, the instruments did not work, only to "kick in" some time after 5-10 km. On the way home, usually they worked right off the bat. I guess mechanical stress and temperature and moisture conspired to make a thin layer of oxide. Probably...

    Weird gauge cluster problems

If I remember correctly, I sprayed electronics cleaner into the plugs. For all I know, the re-seating of the connectors is enough to remove some oxide so that it works again. I would be very careful with that whole printed circuit board - if stressed too much you will get hairline cracks. Cold...

    Squeaking noise from steering column

Could be the contact ring for the horn. No need to disassemble anything for that, it's somewhat accessible on the underside of the steering wheel. Some battery/contact grease applied with a cotton swab fixed it for me. Hope it's that easy. - Krazykraut

    Covid

No lockdown here in Sweden: schools, bars, shops, restaurants all open and packed due to nice weather. Don't have a Delica anymore (and haven't seen one here in six months) so no wrenching for me. Everyone drives boring late model station wagons. Sad state of affairs...

    Weird gauge cluster problems

Had the exact same problem. Pulling the gauge cluster, re-seating the connectors a few times and applying electronics cleaner to the plugs fixed it permanently. As GBNZ said, if that doesn't help, re-flowing the solder for the round connectors would be my next try. Don't put too much stress on...

SOLD - 1993 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Exceed, High Roof

I'm moving to Sweden. I'm a dual US/German citizen, so I automatically have right of residence there, which made it easy for me to find a job. I'm moving from a laser scanning industrial automation/software job to one in the same field. Ironically, a lot of my projects are going to be in the...
