    Clutch won't engage

Feel ya here, for what it’s worth. If you can get your hands on an impact driver (with extenders/sockets) other than floor jack, this job really isn’t that bad. Was able to get it done in a couple days. All in all, I spent about $400 I believe. You may be able to find a Hyundai Clutch stateside...

    L300 Fuel Screw

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Here’s an update that may prompt more questions than answer. This is something noticed by my friend, who is the mechanical guru performing the head swap When swapping out the camshaft sprocket (another story) and subsequent re-tensioning of the timing, Crank...

    Extended ball joint fit.

Hey, I wish I had took a better photo of my knuckle when installing. But I feel like I’m seeing a sleeve in there that shouldn’t be?

    L300 Fuel Screw

Understood, thank you. Compression test will be done soon but I did order a protruding head and double checked the part numbers with Coombs before ordering. When you say advance the timing, do you mean by IP tilt or actually advancing the IP a tooth?

    L300 Fuel Screw

Timing marks and clearances have been checked. I may tighten up the clearances a bit more but they’re in spec

    L300 Fuel Screw

Hey all! Been tinkering and reasonably confident in the cause but wanted to see if anyone else has some thoughts on this. The head was replaced last week after a snapped balance belt, timing jump, and subsequent destroyed valves. Since then, I’ve done a couple 200 mile drives in addition to my...

    Silver Fox Camper Build

Hey all, another update on Silva (Silver Fox). About a month and a half ago the balance belt snapped, skipping the timing and destroying the valves. I’ve done all my own maintenance these last two years but quickly realized I didn’t have the experience or nerve to dig into the engine myself. My...

    Silver Fox Camper Build

Another update! Just made it to Boulder, CO. Three months living in the van have been a dream, especially since I was hopping around rivers. Took 5 days driving to Colorado to spend some time in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Just past 245,000km. camped at 11,800ft last weekend. Van did lovely and...

    Hello from Salt Lake City!

Lol, I feel that. I just moved into an apartment I don’t live in Salt Lake City at the moment but may be in town in the next month or two. However, if you’d like to hop on a facetime call or something I can always do my best to help.

    Hello from Salt Lake City!

I would maybe get in touch with Impact Auto and Diesel. I used to own an old 7.3idi ambulance that I would bring to them. They work on the US diesels to my knowledge but are extremely knowledgable and may be able to help you out. Otherwise, I forgot the name but there’s a shop somewhere near...

    Parking Brake Parts Sourcing

I bought a new parking brake line and hanger off Megazip in November. Stock wasn’t a problem back then at least. Also, be careful removing some of the old hangers that run along the chassis as you need to reuse a couple.

    Silver Fox Camper Build

I’ve definitely come close. Funny enough, my rack sits far enough out from the hitch and the stove just happened to rest in the perfect spot for me to stand between and cook without issue.

    Silver Fox Camper Build

Just past three weeks living in the van. Spent 2 in Kalispell completing a wilderness first responder course and now I’m in Missoula gearing up to raft guide. Not sure what the long term prospects will be but I‘m still working on finishing my flight instructors rating. Van is holding up -...

    Silver Fox Camper Build

Continuing on! After getting back from Bham, it was time to start on the drawers. The big one would be the cook drawer. All three are built out of 3/4” with a 1/2” bottom panel. Everything in this van is glued and screwed, and almost everything got the router and sanding treatment. I also...

    Silver Fox Camper Build

Hi all, for some backstory I’ve owned this 1993 Delica L300 for about 2 1/2 years, as my only car to boot. Originally named the Silver Fox by Nomadic Van, I also use the name ”Silva”. The rust has started to set in and the miles are racking up but it was time to move in and utilize this van for...

    Another side exhaust complete!

No specific recommendations but try to find an old timer who’s got a lot of experience and own their shop. I paid 215$ for mine, and they did a fabulous job
