    My 2002 L400

Did you remove the center cooling tube to change the left side cam seal? I changed the orings there as well. Damn if they didn't leak when I reassembled the left side. It seems that cam seal is subject to more heat than a seal can handle. Maybe a poor design by Mitsu? Seems all the V6 cams...

Hi Andy Is the ford explorer tie rod cheaper? Also from above "I stated to install febest bushings in my rh upper control arm earlier today. " It's been a long time since I changed my Upper control arm bushings but I believe the entire control arm needed changed and the bushing couldn't be...

Electrical problem - multiple systems failed in cold weather

I'm hesitant to start that trouble shooting but I'd start by removing your drivers door panel and cleaning up the contacts on the micro switch. The plastic inserts that hold the door on might break in the cold weather. Thats why I suggested waiting but some things are just not possible. PITA...

It's nice looking with a good interior and the price is reasonable. That engine change may be a question but it's worth checking carefully and buying.

Also check tire wear as it's lifted. Many of the lifted delicas have poor tire camber. It shows on the tire wear. Check the tire tread wear across all 4 tires, it should be close from side to side. If not it may be an indication of a problem. Lift both front wheels. Check movement up n...

I really like my V6 but the fuel mileage is a problem in the V6's. Check the amount of soot in the tail pipe. If it is black to the touch it uses excess gas and may need new injectors. It can run very smooth but still burn too much gas. Thats not a big issue but your range decreases to 400...

Electrical problem - multiple systems failed in cold weather

Delica electrical gremlins like to show up when the weather changes. If you're patient they will disappear. If you're from the west coast, like me, expect that all winter with dampness. If you store in a garage it's not as bad but outdoor storage will let the gremlins in through cracks in the...

1999 L400 - Troubling sounds under the hood

Have someone turn your steering wheel one end to the other and listen at the engine. Read my posts under L400/Montero/Pajero Part Compatibility for my steering rack description and price.

1999 L400 - Troubling sounds under the hood

Toooo funny. I have same mysterious noises. It's your power steering pump. Don't worry unless its low on fluid or has leaky hoses. Check for both problems. It can make same noises for decades without being a serious proble. Monitor the problem and keep the fluid level up. Check your...

    L400/Montero/Pajero Part Compatibility

You can resell it after you use it for a rebuild or just have Randy rebuild yours while it's in his shop. Talk to Randy for his advice I found it better to bring a used rack to him and drive mine while I waited.

    L400/Montero/Pajero Part Compatibility

MPWhite I have a complete steering rack that I bought years ago to rebuild then change out on my L400. It was a PITA to source parts for , then learn how it works etc and change out. So I bought a used rack from CC autos and installed the rebuilt one. The old one developed real bad leaky...

    Lower arms look suspicious

I'm no engineer but I've always felt the steel used on car bodies was too soft. Lots of my L400 body frame has bent a little. When I tried welding it hardened considerably. Thats just the nature of that carbon steel though. Anyways your problem is easily solved with a few hammer blows...

Thanks, I'd forgotten they'd changed. The oil base is the best and Tremclad may be phasing it out.

    L400 Manual locking hubs

Thats news to me. What problems are you referring to?? No problems on a an L400. Where did you read this? Check the CV boots before lift and grease the CV joints as a standard maintenance it when you change the boots.

    L400 Manual locking hubs

Lzjr Great, you'll have a good looking Delica. I always liked the looks of the locking hubs. Enjoy. Amazing how the fuel mileage drops off in 4 wheel drive, I never noticed a better or worse fuel mileage in either hub use.. Llbrandon I've owned 3 different delicas, an L300, a 4 cyl series 1...
