I'm hesitant to start that trouble shooting but I'd start by removing your drivers door panel and cleaning up the contacts on the micro switch. The plastic inserts that hold the door on might break in the cold weather. Thats why I suggested waiting but some things are just not possible. PITA...

Thats news to me. What problems are you referring to?? No problems on a an L400. Where did you read this? Check the CV boots before lift and grease the CV joints as a standard maintenance it when you change the boots.
