Price: 11,000
Year, model: 1993 Mitsubishi Delica L300
Engine: Gas
Transmission: Automatic
Kilometers: ~100,000 miles (Van is in a different state - can’t give exact mileage until I visit Ithaca in late June)
Location: Ithaca, New York
Summary of Vehicle/Condition: working crystal lite roof, seats removed from back & replaced w/ twin sized wooden bed frame & purple mattress. Has been in outdoor storage for ~1 year due to COVID issues. Battery may be dead due to long storage time - plan to fix this before I show it when I visit Ithaca in late June but cannot offer current pictures or information b/c I am in Idaho. Shortly before storage the alternator, plugs, distributor, transmission lines, and alignment were replaced. Issues noted prior to storage - some rust on roof, starter likely dying, muffler mounts possibly loose which makes it extra loud, speedometer is not working. Currently titled in NY and no registration (no plates).
Showing Dates: ~ Late June - Mid July (These are the dates I will be in Ithaca. If van does not sell during these dates I will ship it to Pocatello, ID where I currently live)
Note on Photos: Some of these photos are from the dealer I bought from in 2019. Some of these photos are ones we took just before leaving Ithaca at the start of 2020. I am happy to take current photos when I am in Ithaca on request!

Long Version:
This is a 1993 Mitsubishi Delica L300. The van is an imported JDM, righthand drive, four-wheel-drive vehicle. This one runs on gas (most are diesel) so it’s a bit faster than others you will find on the market, though still not trackworthy by any means. Since its gas, it uses the common Mitsubishi 4G64 engine which is available in the US. This means that it’s a whole lot easier to get parts and find mechanics for this engine than for it’s diesel counterpart. The gas mileage is about what you would expect, 10 in the city and 14 on the highway. This Delica is somewhat rare as it has the crystal lite roof and all the automatic shades work! It’s also fitted with a wood grain Momo steering wheel, Ralli-Art mud flaps, and a rear gate ladder. I took out the rear seating and put in a custom bed frame. The bedframe leaves room for storage underneath and currently holds a like-new twin sized Purple brand mattress.

The van was purchased from a dealer at 148,867 Kms (92,500 Miles) and I put about 10k miles on it since purchase. It’s had some work done on it. The big stuff is a new alternator, plugs, distributor, transmission lines, and alignment. The van does have a few issues. The biggest issue is that the starter is dying. I've never had it not start due to starter issues but it requires a bit of key giggling to get her going. I think I must have bumped the muffler mounts loose because she’d louder now than when I purchased her. I have a great mechanic who gave me an estimate on the cost to fix the muffler and starter and he told me the job shouldn't cost much more than a few hundred bucks. The speedometer is also not working - we think this is due to a loose or broken wire. I never got around to fixing these issues due to COVID related circumstances. There are also some rust spots on the roof. A lot of them are painted over and are rather small. I understand the rust repair to be just an easy Bondo and paint job, though this is not something I’ve tried myself. The rest is the usual wear and tear you'd expect on a 30-year-old vehicle, some scratches and dents but nothing major.

I originally paid just under 15k for her and am currently looking for around 11k. I'm willing to negotiate given the mechanical quirks mentioned above. I fell in love with the look of this van when I saw it and knew I had to have one. I'm sad to be getting rid of her given all the adventures she’s taken me on, but unfortunately, the direction of my life doesn't allow for that kind of travel anymore. If you're looking for a unique Japanese, cab over, 4 wheel drive, glass-roofed van to camp out in, this might be the one for you!

Some of the photos are the ones that the dealer took which we purchased from. Some are our own photos to highlight the major visual changes to the vehicle since purchase (predominately the removal of the seats and installation of bed). I'm in a different state from the vehicle so I'm not able to take additional photos as this time, though I do have more photos I can share on request. I'll be in Ithica for about two weeks between end of June and beginning of July - so I can offer showings during that time.
