This is the hole in the alternator at the bottom which you would imagine would have a bolt through it but as you can see the bolt has nowhere to go as it seems that back hole is "filled"...
As I tore this engine down I didn't break a bolt at all and I tore it down for tune up, lashing and because there was a horrible demonic squeal from the belts. Is that a broken off bolt that should be some kind of support bolt for the alternator and the squeal I was hearing is because as the belts are tightened it puts the alternator at a caddywampus angle?

Sounds like the pivot bolt was sheared off inside the mount...

That sucks, the mount is part of the oil pump/front case of the engine... hopefully you can drive it out with some heat to loosen it; but I suspect it's going to be a surprisingly sucky job.
