Anyone know how to mod the front passenger seat to fold forward flat?

I’m trying to figure out how to modify the latch so I can fold the passenger front seat forward and flat, I know it must be doable, just need some pointers...

Want your front seats to fold all the way forward flat?
(I'm sure someone posted about this before, but can't find it)

Here's how:

Unscrew recliner lever and seat hinge cover and remove.

Take a dremmel / junior hacksaw / hammer(!) and remove this metal (you may want to unhitch the upholstery, I just pulled it back)

TA,DA!! one folded flat seat. Drivers side it the same, but have to remove headrest to fold all the way forward and be aware of seatbelt and handbrake getting in the way so less flat and less elegant.

Are you able to reinstall the cover once this is done? Or is it always going to be exposed like that?

Awesome thanks! Gonna do this right away. Also, super jealous of your seats. Active Gear? Or later model Chamonix/Jasper?

Chamonix 94 and I’m including a couple more photos. You need to Chanel out the inside as well as cuting out that chunk of the seat support - there is a stop pin attached to the spring that hits a stop on the inside of the assembly before the seat would even fold flat, so in my view it’s a two part removal to make it all work

Im sorry guys. But what am i missing? It seems as though you have to cut both the outer (upper) and inner (lower) plates to make this work, yeah?
I looks as though there are two pins that will contact the inner plate and that is what neds to be cut away.
Can the pin be knocked out instead?

The pin holds the spring- look at my response prior it shows cutting out a channel in the back side of the seat pivot

Hello good citizens,

these are some shots of passenger side seat, some sort of older GM seat, looking to make them fold further forward, any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Am I missing something? It seems that even after the cut there is some king of stopper that's keeping the seat from folding all the way foward. Advice? 6B685999-21C3-451F-BE38-AB006A79C090.jpeg

I never managed to get this sorted out. Was worried about continuing to cut more away than i already had.

I think the key is that you need to go in from the foam side and cut out a channel. I can’t remember how much i cut out from the inside. But its not just a matter of cutting out that notch.

Figured it out . You gotta cut a channel for this nub thing on the inside, like the what they said above, but it's hard to see the stopper nub until you start cutting. Study pictures closely for an idea.
