Lookin' for a Delica

I've been perusing the internet and looking through a bunch of different forums trying to gather as much information as possible about these unique vehicles. I live in the PNW and I would really like to take this car on my adventures. I'm definitely interested in an L300 and my budget is around 18k. I want something reliable and I'm willing to pay for quality. I'd like to know some good places to shop and hopefully hear some of your experiences with the vehicle and what not. Thank you!

You are in an advantageous part of the country for importers and a much easier state than CA for registering. As long as you can work out the logistics/$ of sale from Canada you might be able to save some cash? Good luck with your search, this is a great group of folks that are passionate about their Delicas and keeping them on the road as well as helping fellow owners.

Just sent you a message about a van I'm selling.

Maybe I can piggyback on this post. I am currently looking for a Delica for the second time. The first time I went through a private sale from someone who was just looking to make some money off importing. They had no mechanical knowledge of the vehicles and neither did I. This time I’ve researched reputable importers in British Columbia Canada and found Coombs Courtry Auto seems to have the best reputation and seems to be the only one offering a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty (excluding small electrical items like radio and wipers and power windows, etc.). The only think that makes me hesitate is that their cost is $5-6k more than similar other vehicles from other importers. The second best importer seems to be Rising Sun, their prices are about $2,000 below Coombs But no 3 yr warranty. . . Never mind, I think I’ve just answered my own question. You get what you pay for with these beautiful vehicles. Coombs and Rising Sun know the problem areas that virtually always come up with these vehicles at the mileage that they get them (basically 140-200+). They have been thriving businesses for over 15 years and that is based mostly on their reputations. They won’t sell a vehicle that has any problems and certainly not any major problems. They both offer one year 20k power train warranties and warranty any parts that they tell you they have repaired or replaced for a year I believe. For those who do not have the time or the inclination to do repairs themselves, it seems that if you’ve got the money your safest bet is to buy from one of these two importers.

LOVE Glen at Coombs. Bought my van privately but they aided in import and did an inspection for me. I knew exactly what I was getting before I got it. They do have higher pricing on parts as well, but service it top notch. They had serviced the van for the previous owner so I got all maintenance records as well. Fully recommend. I had some rust repair work to do, but knew that from seller. Coombs was more specific about where and how badly. Sandblasted, welded, rust converted, cavity wax and undercoating. Good as new!

Hi I'm interested in this 3 year warranty you speak of. I'm looking to buy a Delica from a guy who bought it from Coombs Country Auto about 1 year ago. Does the 3 year warranty come standard on all vehicles they sell or is that optional? I don't see any info about it on their website.
