STOLEN DELICA PLEASE HELP

Hi all,

Unfortunately my van was stolen yesterday from the Bend, Oregon area and I know there’s a few Deica folks out here in the PNW so I am asking everyone to please keep your eyes out for my van.

It is a 92’ L300 Chamonix with Colorado plates... I’m posting some photos here to save a long description, but some easily recognizable features are the silver mirror window tints, big black safari rack with a solar panel on the front and a Thule roof box on the driver side (RH). Theres one of Xplormor ‘s side ladders as well.

I was living out of it so it has many irreplaceable items....as well a brand new D4BF, needless to say I am heartbroken so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance !

Just wanted to mention that there's a shop in Bend that has done Delica work in the past. It may be worth putting them on alert, in case they hear something.
Import Performance Auto Repair on Empire Ave.

This is why it is so important to have great insurance on our collector vehicles. I really strongly suggest agreed value insurance (NOT "stated value", which is different, but sounds the same.) Hagerty has been my favorite, but Grundy and others also work. When a vehicle gets stolen or totaled with agreed value, the insurance pays out for the full agreed value in full no questions asked.

I will keep an eye to see if this comes up for sale in the Pacific Northwest, but usually these days stolen vehicles of this nature (low volume and 10+ years old) are simply used and dumped in the forest. If there is a global market for parts (think BMW, Audi etc) they'll get chopped up. Probably not the case with a Delica. More likely meth-heads than professionals.

Ya I have been to that shop before so they should be familiar with the van but it wouldn’t hurt to give them a heads up

Sorry to hear that. Its pretty awful!

Will keep an eye out in Seattle Area.

Be easier to find If it is going to be sold as whole on message boards. In case its going to be parted out; specialty parts don't have a huge marketplace, mostly other Delica owners. So might also be a good idea for members to use judgement and ask a few relevant questions when looking to buy used parts from unknown sources. i.e. picture of the van it came from, etc.
