    Exhaust Manifold Work

Once the exhaust manifold gasket and head gasket are replaced, Matilda should run much smoother. She’s a little shaken right now with leaks from both. Can anyone tell me if the measurement of pressures etc should be on a cold engine or a warm one? I speak a little Japanese, but don’t read any at...

    Oil choices

I have been using Rotella T5 15w40 since I bought Matilda. Thus far it seems to have been a good choice for the 4D56. I was shocked by the price increase when I went to look for oil today however. I usually buy several gallons so it lasts a few changes this I haven’t bought any oil in a while...

    A little help

Delibros, A friend in my neighborhood bought a 92 L300 that is in Puyallup, WA. He’s flying out from VA to bring it back but it needs work. Anybody know a shop in that area that can go through it, replace a blown tire, etc? Any steer would be appreciated. Noogie

    Alignment

Deli-bros, I put new shoes on Matilda today. The place was unable to do an alignment or alignment check because they didn’t have the “settings or specs. Matilda is a 1991 L300. Any info would be appreciated. I’d hate to tear up brand new tires. Thanks, Noogie

    Runnin' Hot!

All of a sudden my '91 L300 2.5L turboD started running consistently hot. Normally, the water temp needle is hanging out in the lower 1/3 of the gauge. Now it is staying in the upper 1/3, closing in on the "ahh crap" line. There is coolant in the radiator and reservoir. What, if anything...

    Tunes!

I continue to make incremental upgrades to Matilda. Soon new shocks all around will be required, but first I need some tunes. I have a reasonable head unit, but the speakers are lacking. By lacking I mean 27 year old OEM speakers with sound that you would expect from them... Has anyone done...

    Dancing Tachometer.

Does anyone else have a tachometer that will show a steady rpm and then suddenly hang out at zero, followed by bouncing around randomly? This seems to occur when I put the hammer down (as far as our speed demon can do anyway). I have replaced the sensor. It seems that jiggling the connection...

    Rain getting in!

So it's been raining a bit here in Virginia. Yesterday I noticed that the carpet on the floor near the pedals was wet. Today I noticed that it was much worse. I can't see where it's coming in. Based on another thread, I assume the seam sealer is needed. Can anyone tell me how long of a job that is?

    Engine Block Heater

Has anyone added and engine block heater to their diesel? Winter is coming... I’m looking to add one but would appreciate a steer in the right direction if anyone out there has done it already.

    Runaway horn

Has anyone out there had their horn start and continue beeping all on it's own? I took the rubber cover off and it finally stopped blaring. I would, however, like to put the cover back on at some point. Any ideas out there?

    New Delica in Virginia

Hello, all. I fell in love with Delicas when I was in Japan. I am now the proud new owner of a 1991 Exceed. A fun short road trip from DelicaUSA in Philly to Norfolk yesterday. We got a lot of waves/thumbs up along the way. The guys at Mendel's were great.
