Wheel Alignment

Deli-bros, I put new shoes on Matilda today. The place was unable to do an alignment or alignment check because they didn’t have the “settings or specs. Matilda is a 1991 L300. Any info would be appreciated. I’d hate to tear up brand new tires. Thanks,
Noogie

The 2WD & 4WD specs taken directly from the manual:

I gave a print-out to the tire/alignment guys when I recently had new tires put on, and they didn't seem to have any trouble dialing it in. Van used to pull to the right and now it drives straight as an arrow.

Also, wassup 757 from the 804.

^That's the one. You probably want to download the workshop manual even if you have a mechanic do some work.

My preferred alignment specs for right hand traffic (that's you in the US):

Right: Caster 3°, Camber -0.3° (-15')
Left: Caster 2.5°, Camber -0.3°(-15')
Toe in 0.075° (0°4'30") per wheel (= total toe in 1mm measured at the 15" wheel rim).

This is a 90% highway alignment with good road feel. The low toe-in and slight negative camber reduce understeer, which is what I prefer in a RWD when my legs are the crumple zones. When the van's empty the rear will slide before the front, but it's more neutral when towing or full of gear. If it feels a bit wandery on the highway increase total toe in to 2mm (0.15° each side).
