Does anyone know what this arm/cable is for? Noticed that the pin and cable is seized and would like to replace, but don't know what its function is (or what to call it when ordering parts!) Any help appreciated.

Recently got a transmission temp gauge installed. On start it hovers at a nice 175 F, which is in line with the thermostat. Once I get rolling though, it typically hovers around or a little above 225 F. Is this a normal operating temp or is something wrong? Cheers, LB
