CT Registration Sales Tax?

I am looking at purchasing a L400 from Mardy up in BC and doing some research on what it will take to register the beauty here in CT where I am stationed. I was going through CT DMV's website and found that they charge a sales tax on the vehicle after purchase. Did I read this correctly and does anyone have experience with CT DMV in regards to Imports? This will be my first import vehicle and trying to learn the ropes as I go.

When I purchased mine, dmv charged me sales tax. Make sure they use the msrp calculated in USD not CAD. Good news is I showed them the duty tax I paid while importing and they deducted that amount.

Thank you for the information. I found a 1995 Delica L400 online from Amazing Auto Imorts and about to make the purchase once the holiday is over. I will let you know how it goes. :)
