Hi all,
I'm new to the Delica Forum and Delica ownership altogether, but I recently swapped out the stereo with a Pioneer MVH1400NEX and lost illumination in my gauge cluster. From what I saw on L300 wiring diagrams, the green//white wire is listed as a mystery wire, which I ended up connecting to the orange/white wire on the stereo. I read elsewhere that both of these are responsible for illumination. The stereo came with a purple wire labeled "reverse gear input" which I assumed was only relevant for backup camera installation but the Pioneer wiring diagrams show that wire can be "set as 12v or Ground within Head Unit settings" which I don't totally understand. I haven't seen anyone run into this problem so I'm wondering if perhaps my issue is in grounding a wire. The stereo came with a MicroBypass that connects to Parking Brake/Remote Control/Ground. I connected the ground on the stereo and the ground on the MicroBypass to a ring terminal, screwed into the steel dash reinforcements. I'm wondering if I need to also ground a wire coming from the Delica or if only the stereo wire needs to be grounded. Maybe the purple wire needs to be grounded as well? Perhaps the change in stereo requires installation of a new switch for the gauge cluster illumination? What the hell is this green/white wire used for? I'm lost y'all. I realize this involves an aftermarket part so I'll supply wiring diagrams for the Deli and Pioneer stereo. Let me know if you have any insight or have crossed this bridge before. Thanks!

It sounds like you've wired the illumination up correctly, green/white is indeed powered when the lights are on.
So it's just the main instrument cluster (speedo/tachometer etc) that's dark, and the rest of the dashboard (AC controls, switches) are still illuminated? That sounds like a bad connection made worse by all the jiggling around. I'd remove the instrument cluster and check that there's power to the cluster's green/white wire when the lights are on.

Actually the entire gauge cluster panel, A/C Controls, and apparently rear running lights (got pulled over last night) are all out. The rear fan and gate unlock switches are all that remain lit. On the gauge cluster, the glow plug lights come on when the key is turned but upon starting the car, all lights go down. I'll get in there and try to post a photo of what I've wired up thus far. I hadn't thought about damage I'd cause by wiggling things around, I'll have to check for any bad connections.

That sounds like a blown fuse, if it's taken out the whole park light circuit (front and rear marker lights, dashboard lights). Try disconnecting your stereo (unplugging it should be enough), check the fuses, and try the lights again. If you had the lights on and allowed the green/white wire to touch earth it would have blown the fuse.

Do you have fog lights and a fog light switch? Try turning that switch on, that should power the park light circuit.

The purple wire is indeed for a reversing camera- it tells the head unit you're in reverse, and the head unit switches to show the camera view. Nothing to do with illumination.

It was indeed a blown fuse! Thanks for the heads up, should've known that connection would've been problematic. I replaced the #3 Fuse (15amp) and all was good and bright again.
