Great Lakes Delicas?

Howdy y'all. I introduced myself in the new members thread. Since it is so quiet here I thought I'd kick things off and see how many of you are in the Great Lakes region? I noticed a couple on the other side of the pond in the Spring meetup thread :)

I'm located in SW Michigan, btw.
 
When the world gets back to some degree of normalcy. We should plan a northern WI/ UP meet up.

I'd bet we could get 6-8 vans out there.

Hi there! i just saw a Delica in Portland yesterday while wrapping up a road trip with a buddy in his Sprinter van. I'm intrigued! I own a Honda Element which I just love, but am searching for my next vehicle. Where's the best place to look to buy a Delica in the US?

I was just in two harbors last week! Wow there are like 4-5 of us here in MN!
 
West Michigan here... had the Starwagon about 3 months now. Spent a weekend in the UP around Whitefish Point in the beginning of November, loved camping in this rig.
 
You guys should consider adding yourselves to the delica owners map if you haven't already. Makes finding others and coordinating for meetups, etc. much easier.

We did a cross country trip and planned for 1 week in UP. We stayed 6 weeks :) Lets not tell everyone though...
 
Do any of you have a recommendation for a mechanic willing to work on my baby? I want to get the timing belt done this spring before the summer travel season hits... I kind of want to do it myself, but I have also never worked on a diesel and I want it done right.
 
You could try Detroit Drifting Co. Mike is the guy! Not sure if he's ever worked on a Delica before, but he would be the first person I would approach about it. He's pretty open to working on anything even building JDM engines and custom fabbed parts. Just help him source the parts and supply the FSM! https://detroitdriftingco.com/

I avoid that event like the plague haha! I went one year with my Starion and that was enough for me.

Why don't we just put together a Minn / WI meet instead? I'd help plan it.
