Hey Delica Crew,

I really need some help on this one.

I just had my entire fuel system replace in an attempt to rid my van of stalling issues and delayed acceleration.

All new fuel lines, new fuel filter, new hand pump (on top of the filter), new hoses, and re-sealed fuel pump.

Took the van away to head back 10 hrs to the Kootenays, and the same problems appeared within 15 minutes. New issue, the rpms were high in first and second with prolonged gear change. In fact I had to take my foot off the pedal for the gears to change all while the EGR was getting up to 1200+ very quickly. Also, pedal to the metal (just to test) and minimal acceleration.

I drove back to the shop, guys were professional and got right to it. They opted to remove my original re-sealed fuel pump they just worked on, put in a used one from their yard (with less kms than mine approx 150k/km)

He re-set timing, checked boost and we went for a drive. The throttle cable was backed off completely so the gear change was better and the van performed seemingly well in comparison on residential roads.

Next morning, new problem, intermittent slow and dead acceleration again on the highway. RPM stays around (2000-3000 rpm), but maybe 80 or 90 max speed and I have to press the pedal at the way to the floor. Engine temp stays cool but EGR gets hotter faster, than ever before. Got as high as 1300-1400. Never seen that before.

Additionally, driving with the engine bay exposed, when I let off the throttle there is a hissing/clicking/winding sound? This is also new.

It's gutless. Pedal to the medal and it losses speed. The smallest of incline the speed drops. There's no way I can drive though mountain passes withbthus van.

I pulled over called CCA whi was again helpful and supportive so I decided to have it towed to CVI. Working better this morning but I live 12 hours away and know it will happen again as soon as I hit the highway.

I'm seeing another Delica mechanic today, Butch, he's amazing but really hoping to chat with someone before I see him to maybe have suggestions for him to look at. The first shop is also great they've done work on my van before (CCA), they are perplexed as the entire fuel system is new (aside from the swapped out fuel pump) amd taking and levels are set to spec.

Would really like to chat with anyone so I have some possible things for CVI to check this AM.

I have whatsapps, or Facebook messenger or snapchat ect to video chat or phone chat with you.

Please, anyone with knowledge of said issues and potential causes or things to look at is greatly appreciated.

Spending nearly $6,000 i need this sorted out so I cant get back to work/home/life ect.

Cheers,
Dean
