I Stole GrowlerbearNZ's Idea... and Made a Video...

Love your videos. I've been studying the head and timing belt videos in preparation for a head gasket (possibly whole head) replacement, so thanks for clearly illustrating the process.

I haven't even watched the video yet but there's a 90% chance you pronounced it wrong, which I'm totally used to and fine with. :) Let's see now...
HOLY SHIT YOU GOT IT RIGHT! Well done, sir!

The centre bolt idea is great, much better than the stack of washers/sockets/scrap steel I usually use.

You still have that pulley off?

I'm about 99% certain that you can just use four M8 bolts (grade 10.9) through those holes to easily walk the pulley off. They push against the flat face of the timing belt pulley (use a gradual cross pattern).

The visual aids that those videos offered was super helpful for me. The deadblow hammer/prybar vs harmonic dampener portion was particularly re-watched ... thinking BUT HOW IN THE?!?! But of course I went ahead and used other resources to come up with a puller tool and still made my way through it - like said in this video - making tools = fun RIGHT!? haha!

Nice add on with the center bolt makes a super nice tool! But as SK said you can 99% use four M8 bolts with no tool at all (pretty certain from my first/last experience doing timing belts). I carry those bolts in my van toolkit for the just-in-case I need to do timing belt on roadside/remote location scenario - nice and compact.
