I’ve searched the forums with no results; however, anyone successful with finding a store that can duplicate ignition keys?
I was able to have my local Ace Hardware cut me a set for $9, they had to do some digging around to find a blank that would work since all the Mitsubishi blanks they had didn't quite seem correct. They should be able to find something that works by looking at your current key.
Thank you. I’ll try Ace next time I’m around there. If you happen to go there before I post my results, ask for a SKU please?Ace did ours as well. They found a Mitsubishi key that was 99% the same and after cutting we haven't had any problems with them. Had like 5 made at the time because why not.

Oh it's a Mitsubishi? Let me flip over to the 10 Mitsubishi applicable keys I have and pick the one that's shaped most closely to what you brought in.
I'm sure there is a SKU, but our experience was more,
I've got a 1994 L400 and the blank you are looking for is a MIT4 or X245. ILCO is a MIT4 key. Tried with a MIT1 key and it would unlock doors but not start the engine.
Got them made at ace as well. They ran out of the MIT4 keys and had to order blanks. Took about a week to come in.
See pic.
...and your home address, and any alarm code you might have on the garage... ;-)PM me a high-res photo of your existing key.
Damn that's some serious Intel right there.Hijacking this thread a little bit to talk about key information for the L300...
For the L300, the key blank you need is a DC1 / X54.
Here are all the measurements you would need to cut a key to code. There are 6 spaces and 4 depths, and the spaces are ~.045" wide.

After making a spare key for myself, I now have a bunch of extra blanks. I am not a locksmith but I am happy to cut bits of metal into these precise shapes for people, all you need to do is PM me a high-res photo of your existing key.
Maybe try the MIT4 key at Ace Hardware ... well maybe somewhere in Scotland that has the MIT4 key. Reading above, someone even says they could unlock doors but not the ignition with the MIT1.Hi,
Going to hop on this thread as you guys seem pretty clued up on the topic.
My locks have started to go dodgy and one of my keys doesn't work anymore in the ignition, it has a small crack forming so it's just waiting to snap. My other key is starting to do the same. I took it took a locksmith and got a key cut but it didn't work, he tried again but no luck. He said it might be down to the key being a copy of a copy.
Planning on changing my locks and keys completely but can't seem to find the correct type. All I can find are Mitsubishi Pajero V32 4G54 1990-2004 locks, should this be okay, or should I take the locks to a locksmith for him to clean out?
I got my delica a year ago and the previous owner had it sitting around for 5 years, so is it just one of these things that needs replaced or cleaned out since they haven't been used in so long.
Thanks
Lawrence
