LHD headlights?

Do most people have their RHD headlights still in (mine came with them)?

I feel bad blinding oncoming traffic and am wondering if anyone has a source for LHD headlights for a 1991 Delica L300?

Or can they be converted?

Are the headlights for the US Van wagon the same?

Thanks!

The real problem is going to be finding the parts to replace the seal headlights on the RHD Delica. LHD versions of the van were sold in South America, Africa, and some parts of the EU, but (and this is a big but) they never sold as well as they did in JDM and AUM markets. That means the bulk of the parts available today are for RHD Delicas. Consequently, finding that headlight, as a designed part for an RHD vehicle, is going to be like trying to win the lottery.

I too feel bad every time someone reminds me that my beams are focused to my left instead of to my right. Blink, blink. I stopped trying to find a replacement headlamp housing in December, here's why.

Both my headlight assemblies are leaking. No puddles yet, but I know its just a matter of time. Consequently, I'm going to need to break them apart just so I can clear the condensation. I'm hoping that when I do this I'll be able to reverse the projector lenses.

Just FYI: If I can change the direction of the projector lamps then I can safely increase the level of light they produce.

Thanks, yeah I figured they weren't going to be easy to find (or cheap if I do find them).

I just know in Canada they require the headlights to be the correct LHD versions so I figured they were out there somewhere. I'm going to contact all the Canadian shops and ask what they do.

If you get in there and find it's not difficult to reverse the projector lenses please let us all know!

When I first got my van I took the headlights out and it looked like they were adjustable . Can't they be aimed to the right somewhat ?

They can be aimed as a whole, but I haven't seen any where the pattern is adjustable.

The headlights have a shield inside. If you look at your pattern you will see a slant higher on the left than the right . The fix is to disassemble the light housing which involves heating the housing to loosen the glue holding the glass . After glass is removed you will be able to get to the metal beam shield and either fabricate a copy of the original in the opposite slope (LHD Headlight copy) or trim the high slope level to the lower(eliminating RHD shield only) . Clean old adhesive ,reassemble and use windshield adhesive or silicone to reseal glass . This is the only difference in RHD to LHD vehicles .
