Looking for info from Delica owners

Hi guys. First post here.
So I'm here because I'm in love with the Delica and thinking seriously about purchacing one. Weird to think about purchacing a vehicle without the ability to test drive it though. I have no idea whether I'll like driving one or not. I THINK I will

I have several questions, hoping some folks here can help.

1. I'm trying to figure out fuel cost with these things. It won't be my only vehicle. The plan is to use it for family trips, camping, road trips, etc, but I'm sure I'll drive it around the city a bit. I understand they get about 20 mpg, maybe a little more on the freeway. I get the impression based on what I've read that if one does a lot of city driving in these vans that the fuel consumption go's WAY down the tubes, like with any engine. Van anyone tell me how many gallons the Delica fuel tank holds? For anyone reading this post, what's your experience with the fuel consumption with your Delica?

2. I've never owned a diesel vehicle. What kinds of things should I know going into it?

3. Can anyone tell me about how wide the interior is?

From experience, a lot of this changes as you modify it. Mine started with reasonable fuel economy. Now with over 3" of lift, 31" Tires, straight exhaust, snorkel, my fuel economy is down alot. Somewhere in the 13's city.

All those mods that your talking about are things I'd like to do down the line as well.
The tires I understand negatively effecting fuel economy, but why would a lift?
What exactly do you mean by straight exhaust?
