Year, model: 1995 Mitsubishi Delica L400
Engine: Diesel
Transmission : Automatic
Kilometers: 167,745
Location: port townsend, WA (1.5hr outside Seattle)
Price: 14,000
Summary of vehicle, maintenance performed:
A low mile diesel deli with nice camper build-out already done for you by a former boat builder!
Build out:
•1in ridged insulation on floor, with vinyl flooring on top. Ceiling also insulated with 1/2in ridged insulation
•walls also insulated
•walls made of nice boat-grade western red cedar and some Douglas fir
•nice large spacious cabinet with 3 compartments with latching doors for awesome on-the-road storage that also keep things from looking messy. Doors and panels made of red cedar and mahogany.
•couch that pulls out into a bed that’s a bit wider than a twin mattress. Can sleep a couple comfortably. (Note that I will be selling without the mattress but it was very simple and cheap to buy a roll of foam off Amazon and cut to my specific needs)
•sliding curtains for privacy while camping and reflectix insulation squares I cut out that you can insert into the window cavities for cold camping to keep it a lot warmer inside. Also works to keep the hot sun out.
Previous work:
•brand new front and rear brakes, calipers, drums and pads (2021)
•proper Mitsubishi harmonic balancer/crank pulley installed after the cheap german one that came on it failed (2021)
•new glow plugs (2022)
•temp sensor (2022)
•new fuel filter (March 2023)
•recent oil change n filter, and always done on time
•was imported to Canada by trusted jdm dealer Amazing auto in BC. They did a bunch of work on it, including putting the nice new all terrain tires, installing expensive deluxe trailer hitch among a slew of regular maintenance. They sprayed protective spray on undercarriage. Hard to tell from photos tho cuz I live on a dirt road so it looks just covered in dust.
•I bought it and imported it to the US myself winter of 2020
Current condition:
No problems, running like a champ.
•I am including 2 fuel filters, tie rod ends, and ball joints
(The tie rods and ball bearings don’t need to be replace quite yet, but are probably the next maintenance required.)
•tail pipe after the muffler is rusty with holes. Causes no issues so I don’t really care about fixing it, but if you care, that needs doing.
I’ve had it for 3 years, done regular maintenance and have gotten multi-point inspections on it at least once a year by a mechanic that specializes in delicas because I go on long road trips and want to know it’s in good condition. I’ve lived in it when working on the road for 3 months and it was so cozy and perfect. This thing is a beauty, and really dear to me. I put a lot of work and love into this little conversion. In an ideal world where I wasn’t broke, I would absolutely not be selling it. But I have need for a truck because of work and can’t afford to be a 2 vehicle person, so I have to say goodbye to this baby. I’d really like for someone who’s going to really appreciate it and use it well to have it.
