My L300 Van was stolen. They jammed a screw driver into the ignition switch.

It was truly unfortunate that my van was stolen. For about a week, it fell victim to misuse and neglect. It was trashed, damaged, and littered with cigarette butts. Nonetheless, I'm currently in the process of restoring it to its former glory. However, I've encountered an issue with the ignition cartridge. Although I ordered one for my 1994 P35W 4D56 right-hand drive, the one I received doesn't match the current one. Despite my inquiries with the vendor, they insist it's the correct cartridge. Interestingly, upon comparing it with the ignition cartridges in my two L300s, they both share the same design. Yet, the vendor continues to affirm its correctness. In the attached picture, could someone please identify the differences between the top one (provided by the vendor) and the one below? Notably, my existing ignition cartridge features a cable cradle where a cable is supposed to be attached, whereas the one sent to me lacks this feature. Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

I believe that mechanism is the automatic transmission shifter interlock. The manual shift L300 doesn't have it and the barrel you received looks correct for that application. You can disable that interlock; that would still leave the brake interlock, and the shift lever release button. AFAIK, the automatic barrel is not available anywhere.

You could probably have a locksmith swap out the lock barrel if that's the only thing damaged (assuming they are the same).

Thank you SK66 for your feedback. You mentioned that I could disable the interlock, do I simply install the new barrel and that deems it disabled or do I have to do something else? To me, a newbie in the Delica world, it seems wrong to just leave the cable disconnected. Thanks again.

You will need to either jam/clamp the cable in the released position, or remove the cable and disable the interlock under the cover at the shifter.
The lock barrel is not designed to be removed/replaced. It can be done, but it is ugly.
