My other ride is a...

My long term obsession with Mitsubishi's is evident...

I own both a 1987 and a 1988 Mitsubishi Starion. The one I've owned for 10 years and I've put more blood sweat and money into it than I could ever care to admit. Here they both are...

The white one I picked up from a friend and I'm currently in the middle of building into a safari inspired version. That second picture was before I washed it but after putting the rally gravel wheels on it. I've got my priority straight haha!

If your really a glutton for punishment and want to see all the years of gory details on the gray car (there are hundreds of little details) you can see the build thread I've been maintaining here ---> http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=143564&st=0

Fair warning though, its very long. Its 55+ pages and counting.

wow wow wow those are such unique beauties!!!!! also those gunmetal wheels are VERY attractive

also seeing the engine bay in the grey car makes me really miss having a normal car where you can get to the engine haha

going to spend some serious time looking at your thread, nice rides

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words. I learned basically everything I know about cars and fabrication on the gray car so it means a lot to me.

Something I've not talked or posted about yet but plan on is how much crossover there is to Starions and Delicas. You're probably thinking, well what the heck do they have in common? Well once I get a few projects out of the way I'll make a post about it.

Awesome looking starquests there bro. Don't think I've ever seen yours at the shootout, although I've missed quite a few years. There are always some crazy ones there. Have you entertained the idea of a 4g63 head swap on the gas delica? I know I've dreamed about it

I appreciate it dude. Honestly I've never been to the shootout, I do know guys who go though. Maybe this year I'll go! As for the head swap I'm definitely aware of mating the 4g64 wideblock blocks to 4g63 heads but actually I was more thinking of something less exotic at least for finding parts.

Something interesting that it doesn't seem anyone from this community has realized yet is that the 4g56 engine and the g54b blocks are from the same family. Not only that but are damn near identical other than one is meant for diesel and the other gas. It's an educated guess of mine but I'm pretty sure its true that a Starion motor would bolt right up to the Delica transmission (manual at least) and would even use the same motor mounts.

Don't quote me on that just yet but... that's just one of the things I've noticed.

There's some awesome rides in this group!

My other vehicle is a 2006 Mercedes E55 AMG with 72k miles. It's highly modified and put down 540hp/630tq. Sadly, I may part with both the Delica and the E55 and start over soon. My Delica only has 70k km and is currently getting an intercooler system installed.

the sound of an AMG full throttle has a special place in my heart

Factory Five MKIV Roadster (we built it in ~2014). Still haven't sent it out for paint & body work. I keep saying I'm going to, but I like driving it and the shop it's going to be sent to is running ~12 months to complete paint & body on them....so it remains in red gel coat from the factory.

2020 Tesla Model X Performance (being delivered Monday!)

I can't believe I've never posted but my other rides include a 1989 Toyota Crown.

1UZ-FE (4.0lt V8)
A341E (4 speed auto, electronically controlled)

Has factory airbag for driver, ABS, traction control, but ironically no side intrusion beams (until we had to weld them in for compliance).
Suspension is factory airbag with electronic damping.
Velour interior with all power options including all seats being powered (rears have a recline). It has a CRT and an early nav system. Also has a fridge in the parcel shelf. Dual air con.

Only aftermarket stuff are an exhaust, BBS RS with correct center bores and the r spec height controller (raise and lower above factory setting).

EDIT: I did put an LSD center in too for obvious reasons.

New car! Kia Soul EV. Yes, I know they're as common as dirt in the US, but they were never sold here in NZ, I had to import this one from the UK. Placed the order in June and then had to wait 4 months because some pandemic thing came along?

It drives very similar to the Delica, minus the body roll. All torque, lots of weight, plenty of grip. Obviously I'm keeping the Delica but it'll be for long distance trips, hauling the caravan, and picking up big stuff. Which means it'll still get plenty of use, just not the short drives where it barely gets up to temperature.

I realized I never posted pics:

1991 Pajero XP (with winter rubber from the Arctic Ocean via 2020 Alcan 5000 Rally): The Terra Tractor
1992 Pajero XR-II with D4BF swap: The Ralli Tractor
2007 Toyota Yaris with a bunch of bolt-ons: "The Yaris"
2017 Mirage with springs, rear way bar, intake, JDM wheels, and 78 hp of three-banger fury: The Rage
