Hi, so It’s all set, we leave Friday night around 7 pm from the Bay Area and get up to Hwy 4 and camp for the night just past Arnold. Then on Saturday we’ll head North on Forest service Roads to our campsite with views overlooking Bear Valley. Sunday we continue and end up back in Hwy 4 and back home to the Bay Area.
All are invited. It will be off road in easy to moderate roads. A stock, un-raised Delica should do fine, that’s what I have. Saturday will be easy fire roads and Sunday will be slightly more challenging. My buddy with his Jeep with a winch will be on hand just in case.
This trip will determine what future mods I’m going to do with my stock height and stock bumper setup. If our stock Delicas can’t handle simple Blue trails, I’ll mod with North Coast bumpers and do at least a 2” lift with locking diffs. I suspect we’ll do fine on the Blue trails though. But you never know, just be ready for a hella-fun adventure. If we think it’s too much, we’ll just turn around.
No off road experience is necessary, just a good attitude ;-)
I know our Delicas are not hard core 4x4s, if I wanted that I’d get a Jeep or something. But still we should be able to do the easy to moderate roads, nothing remotely extreme.
So far we have me, my Jeep buddy (Phil) and Kevin. Who else is interested? More details to follow.
