Pointers for replacing front calipers, disks, pads? I want to do this on my own...

Typically I try to do this stuff by just jumping in and then I ask for help after the damage is done. This round I hope to gather some pointers BEFORE I start... particularly in bleeding brake lines - I never seem to get them as crisp as before? I am doing this because a rotor seems to have warped causing a thud thud thud when I brake. This is for a '90 Super Exceed.

Any help with part numbers would be appreciated. I heard they might be available at Napa but everywhere I ask about parts they say a Delica wha?? Not many Deli's here in NH and VT. YET!

Thanks in advance!

Ask for parts for an 89 Montero...
Leave the caliper hanger bolted on until the rotor is completely loose... It's easier to use that as a leverage point to help get all of the other bolts broken free (compared to the other options).

Hey guys, Just jumping on this thread as i am dealing with a similar problem right now. If I understand correctly, parts for an 89 montero (including a rotor?) will also fit for a Delica L300 starwagon? Thanks

Thank for your help! Got them replaced with Montero parts and Made it back to BC from SF with no problems! Phew!

Calipers MB534320 and MB534321 are common to ?/83-4/91 Montero and 5/86-5/96 Mighty Max (4wd of course). Same for pads (*349 seems to be a standard fitment number). Rotors MB407038 are common to auto and manual hubs on the same vehicles ~86-94.

Also Dodge Ram 50 and Dodge Raider, which means when you break down outside of Podunk, BFE, whose only auto dealer is Dodge, you have a non-zero chance of getting some parts no matter how many eyebrows they raise at your What-On-Earth-Is-That.

And then there's this: http://dinoevo.de/brake-upgrade/

Surprisingly, Napa has parts for Delicas under 'Mitsubishi L300' (they're the only US parts supplier that I'm aware of that has our vans in their catalog). I've asked for a complete list, but the guys at the counter don't seem to know how to generate that. Mostly maintenance parts like filters, etc. If you go to napaonline.com you can dig a little. I didn't see a rotor specific you our vans though.
