Project "Because Racecar"

It looks as though the forum these photos and posts were originally hosted on was not being managed or updated and had a pretty serious loss of data. Because of that they lost all posts and data after Sept 2015. It's certainly not the end of the world but it means the rest of the posts I hadn't transferred here are gone. I'll just have to approximate them instead. Here goes nothing lol.

May 5th 2018:

Here is the photo of the finished headlight setup. It uses 5.75" sealed beam headlights from a 1970 Chevelle of all things haha. Anyway as you can see in the photo the other large thing I was doing was wiring up the car.

Here's a photo of the hood closed and a bit better view of the front. You can see that the hood still needs modifying to remove the pop up areas. That will happen soon though.

Could this help? Looks like the WayBack Machine had archived some of this thread at one point...

Currently working on trying to pull more posts from my old build thread... it's not going great haha!

EDIT: It looks like there isn't much left to post. The wayback machine only archived certain pages. So here is the rest of what it has!

I haven't updated this in awhile yet all kinds of things have happened. Life gets busy, what can I say? lol

About a month ago as the weather started warming up and I started the process of upgrading the flywheel and clutch.

So the motor came out and the rear main seal was replaced before installing the fidanza flywheel and ACT 6 puck clutch. I also installed beehive valve springs.

I also baffled the oil pan but sadly didn't really take any pictures of that...

Another thing I did was make a thermal barrier gasket for the intake manifold. I can tell you that after datalogging it made a very noticeable different. Totally worth it!

After putting the car back together and filling it full of fluids I brought the car up to temp only to quickly realize that I had coolant leaking from the rear coolant port. Soooo I had to take the manifold back off to properly seal that up.

But after that the car was happy and sealed up. Now I'm driving it around and enjoying it. The flywheel upgrade is great, the 6 puck clutch isn't horrible to drive on the street, and the car feels awesome!

And for the second time in the cars life I washed it. It definitely needed it hahaha!
