June 7th 2017:
More progress pictures. I've gotten some other things done but I haven't taken many pictures. Here are two of the steering rack conversion coming along. The mounts for the steering rack are welded onto the cross member but it still needs to get cleaned up and repainted. The steering rack I took apart and properly depowered it (non-power steering now) and finished reassembling it last night. I'll be finishing everything up including attaching it to the steering column the next time I'm in the garage.
After that its on to the tube front end!

Here is a current picture of the car how it sits right before I start tonight along with a list I made off the top of my head (probably missing tons) of what I need to do in 9 days. It's going to be a thrash but I'm optimistic

I have to report though that sadly... I'm not going to make it. I'm just too far behind. On top of that I dropped my phone in water on Monday so pictures were not possible until now. Phone is fixed and here comes some pictures!

Crank and cam trigger wheels along with the associated sensors should be in the car by tomorrow night's end. Also fender bracing and rally inspired headlight setup should be done very soon so I can start wiring. Here is a quick picture I took the other night.

rally style headlight conversion is started... although its made out of cardboard for now until I figure everything out and finalize how I want it to look and fit. I'd love thoughts and ideas, lets hear them!

The "header panel" area is finished and the mount points for the headlight assemblies are made. Now I need to make the headlight housings and finally see if all this work will look decent with the non-rally car front end or if it looks like a cat puked on a bucket lol. Also I will need to fill the popup headlight space in the hood. I've got a few ideas for that.

Another update, I finished fabrication of both the cam and crank sensor parts. I've also got everything finalized for the headlight setup which means all the front end parts could finally be painted. Just like all things in life sometimes your plans don't go as they intended and I had to re-fabricate everything involving the radiator and its location. The headlight "buckets" were just not going to fit with the radiator where it was. So its been moved into a more "normal" position which does make it more like the rally car or stock setup so that is a mixed blessing I guess. I don't have pictures of everything back together just yet but I did take some today of the front end going back on and how I did both my cam / crank sensors incase anyone was interested. If you want more details just ask.

Well I haven't updated in awhile but I got time to take some pictures and get them on the internet so here we go. Lots of stuff has been done and I'm at the wiring stage. In the pictures you'll notice red rope with masking tape in various places. That my friends is my mock up wiring harness. I'll use that to make the whole harness off the car, test it, and everything so that hopefully I can just go plug that sucker in and "Whammo!" A wired car! That is the hope anyway LOL.
Anyway, onto some pictures...

Another small update: I started working on the engine harness. Here are two pictures, one showing the rope template taped down and prepped, and the other is me starting to lay out the wiring, cutting to length, and bundling it to get ready for the eventual attempt at concentric twisting it all LOL.

I haven't posted anything on the car in a bit so here is a silly picture of the car as it sits now while I continue making the wiring harness in my spare time. The cold weather really slows things down here in the "Great North".
